Is Overwolf (ReplayHUD) allowed?

Wanted to started using it to see what mistakes I make, and hopefully improve. However I don't want to get banned or anything like that. Is it allowed? I have read several places that say it's "use at your own risk" but I don't really understand what that means.

Riots stance on 3rd party is "use at your own risk".

Does it give you unfair advantage?

Yes - Don't use it. No - How can you be sure.

There are a lot of 3rd party programs that seem ok but have some hidden features that give you an advantage. Even if you don't use those features, having it installed will get you banned.

The only ones I'm sure are 100% proof are:

Wooxy ( custom skins ) Discord ( chat )

But even if something is safe now doesn't mean it will be in the future. If wooxy changes their mind and start importing paid skins or skins that give you an advantage, everyone using wooxy would be on the radar.

If i tell you it's safe it doesn't mean it is. Maybe I'm missinformed ( been using it for years so i doubt it ). Maybe I'm trolling you.

If you are not 100% sure about something, don't use it.

Hey there!

Sophie from Overwolf here. Replay HUD or any other Overwolf app will NOT get you banned.

We are working closely with Riot Games to ensure that all the apps we publish are aligned with their Terms of Service and their 3rd party policies. Our apps do nothing more than a second monitor would do for you and do not interact with League of Legends.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to chime in, since someone asked about our thoughts on this. LoLWiz, in it's current incarnation, is no different from visiting OP.GG or LolNexus or any other similar site. The only real difference is that it is displayed via an Overwolf Plugin, rather than a web page. It's powered by the Riot API, and no questionable access the game client, so as of right now we have no issues with using this app and will not frown upon players who do so.

That being said, we reserve the right to change our stance on this, if in the future the LoLWiz app adopts any functionality we find to be harmful to player's experience or the game's ecosystem. (Though if that happened we would first attempt reach out to LoLWiz and try to course correct things there, instead of banning players.) Also, naturally, we can never officially condone or promote the use of any third party tool, as we can never guarantee your game stability or safety in doing so.

TL;DR - It's not directly affecting the client, as it is a component of Overwolf and not a game-mod, so you won't be banned.

Beat me to it. i was going to link to this same post. As outlined above, it's legit to use Overwolf.

Overwolf is trusted by pros like Cloud9, Team Liquid and Logitech Gaming.

Make sure at all time that you are using an Overwolf app by downloading it directly from our appstore available at http://store.overwolf.com/apps/
