Muting the player's chat will also mute their emotes, including taunts, jokes, dancing, laughs, and mastery spam, and any event emotes such as urf or MSI. We've had that option all this time, but it wasn't available for pings until now.

Although, I would agree riot should separate this in case you're really annoyed by a player's emotes but don't want to miss something in chat.

If you're referring to disabling the enemy team seeing your emotes, I don't think that's necessary, it can be funny at times too seeing somebody flash it after you killed them or seeing them fuck up and use it.
