Why Not Create a Harsher Penalty for AFK in ranked?

Firstly let's start of by saying this is a little bit of a vent.

I am not the best league of legends player. But when I enter a game i finish it through to the end trying the best that I can. I have noticed recently in my ranked play that there have been many AFK's. I have been told people who AFK make up a small percentage of games but it seems in more than a few of my games I have somebody who is AFK.

I feel like this is a growing problem. In season 4 I have never had a problem with AFK's in ranked. I have seen more AFK in my ranked this season than all of season 4 ranked.

While I understand there are emergencies at times, it is just ridiculous. I do not know in what ways these summoners can be 'punished'.

Are there currently harsher punishments for people who AFK in development?

Because it's free to make new accounts. The solution (imo) is to lessen the loss penalties for the allies. And in promos, discount the match.

This cuts trolling out at the knees.

They already punish AFKs harder in Ranked, and they made LeaverBuster harsher in general this season. I'm pretty sure you can eventually get a Ranked restriction if you leave Ranked matches a lot.

Click on "Help & Support" -- half the threads are people whining about getting bans or low priority queue restrictions from LeaverBuster.
