About that new Champion, Yone...

I'm pretty sure the champion in the bottom picture is of Yasuo, obviously a male, and an expert swordsman (as evidenced by him balancing the seed on his sword). I'm also pretty sure he'll be released as "Yasuo, the Unsheathed Sword." But he won't be the next champion.

The next champion will likely be Yone, the narrator, who I believe will be a female, and who will most likely be a support. (Riot loves female supports, and if we look at the silhouette in the first image (may or may not be Yone), it looks very feminine.) We know this because of what she says initially about working with her brother: "The true challenge lies in teaching him not to kill." This indicates pacifism, support, healing, diffusion, etc. The other inference I draw that she'll be support is when she says "Were it not for my actions, I wonder if he would have been swept down this dark path...At first light tomorrow, I set out to capture a sword without a sheath: my brother Yasuo."

Both of the bolded parts indicate that she did not harm him or, obviously, kill him when she intervened him going down a dark path, and she isn't setting out to stop (by any means necessary, or in other words, kill,) her brother. She's out to capture him. Again, indicating a more peaceful means of stopping him, maybe even "saving" him. Peaceful means = support, at least that's what makes the most sense.

And since the story leaves with Yone setting out to capture her brother, it makes sense that we'll be following Yone's story first, not Yasuo's.

I feel like I'm the only person who thinks the first image is just a YOUNG Yasuo, first learning the sword. "Breathing life" into it. That figure strikes me as more youthful, less feminine. But I guess time will tell!

This is what i tryed to tell people in the comments section, but nope it's either yi or xin's brother in there! I'm glad someone else can interpret this correctly.

I agree that it would be great if it was the narrator.. who's a much more compelling character. But, it's tagged as Yasou not Yone.

As much as I would love a new support, I thought that earlier it was stated we wouldn't have any more supports in 2013.

As others have mentioned, the post was tagged with "Yasuo" so it's most likely the brother. But I suspect Yone will be released eventually.

As another also mentioned, I saw the top picture as Yasuo's youthful days where he first took to the sword naturally. The bottom picture is after he has become a hardened warrior, not taking into mind the teachings of his youth. We don't really get a lot of info about the narrator other than a name and the fact that he/she has a brother, Yasuo.

Speculation is always fun though, so I can't explicitly say you are wrong. You definitely bring up some interesting thoughts!

I agree that the silhouette in that top picture looked feminine. Will she be a full-support? hmm I don't think so.

Theres been a lot of discussion about samurai, but I think its totally plausible to have a melee support as a bodygaurd or yojimbo for Yone. They could do some really cool mechanics with it, and have a different style support than the healers/stun bots that are popular.

I'm pretty sure Yasuo will be the next champ. Yone was just the author. But did anyone see the resemblance to Xin in the pic or is it just me?

Idk about the samurai in the picture being Yasuo, i mean, he is bloodthirsty and all that, but the leaf on the sword doesnt mean balance???(or something related to the masamune/muramasa in wich case not cutting the leaf would be contradictory with the darkness in the heart of the holder)...

Do you really think that they would make a samurai a support? It would make sense that they would either be a top lane or a jungle. Unless they go tank (like taric), but I don't think that they would implement a melee support. That, and the fact that samurai's are built for combat.... i don't know but that is what I think.

I think the guys on reddit spoiled it. From the sounds of it, someone took a tour of Riot and breached their NDA by telling people the new champ is going to be Yasuo. Kinda like what happened with Jinx on 4chan.

It would be awesome to have some sort of ad support champion added to the game to make things a little different, that is just my opinion I don't know about what other people think of it. It might be generally way to over powered but It might be nice to try.

MadLock11/15/2013, 6:35:12 PM1 votes

I just want Riot to clarify which one we are getting.

Hellioning11/14/2013, 9:56:32 PM1 votes

I expect both to be released (though if Yone is a support I shall be so sad) but Yasuo's being released first; he's the one the post is tagged with.

Yone, season 4 support style.
