I know I'm late but why are people doing this? I've seen it enough times to know it can't be a typo.

because its as stupid and irrational as they are.
Because in one of their videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=misAyNLuoQg at the end (3:13) instead of "Riot" it says "Rito."
Simply put, It's a meme.
They've been called Rito for years.
