A Rioter: PLEASE ANSWER THIS RIDDLE

Four people on my team all called top and because of the was it loads at diff times for each player all think they called first. So they all lock. I'm the noble one who dodges so we don't have the most toxic game ever.

Since you invented this dumb penalty system, explain to me; WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE? And if I did the right thing why are you punishing me for it?

The reality is, dodging needs a penalty. The penalty is very minor assuming you don't do it often - 5 minutes and 3 LP - but it is necessary. If there is no penalty for dodging, then you might as well have a 5 minute penalty on EVERY game because it takes like 10 times as long for games to start. They've tested it before. If there's no penalty, people will dodge if ANYTHING looks even the slightest bit imperfect to their eyes - and everyone has a different vision of 'perfect' which means that the odds of SOMEONE in the game not liking the way it looks are very high.

And if anyone dodges, well, back to the queue for everyone.

I'd rather the 15 min wait for my next queue than spend 20-30 minutes of hell in the game. At least I can make a sandwich and look at some porn in the mean time. lol.

if there is no penalty for dodging, im dodging every game until I get blue side. I hate red. everything is upside down.

Ah, the never-ending choice between being put into a low priority queue and wasting 20+ minutes of your life playing a game with horrible team mates.

DUMBASS lol no you did the right thing fuck those guys. But I personally would've gone with it and had an all top push comp and just seen what would've happened. I mean it's normals right? Ranked hell no I'm dodgin but like in normals i woulda just gone with it for the lolz. XD Also I totally agree that the riot penalty system is horrible atm and needs to be changed.

So much potential to be a good company, but that cannot fix the simple things people have been begging for since the game we created...

Keep playing dealing with snot-nosed 13 year old brats who will probably rage/flame the entire game making it a highly unfun experience for you and cost you a win while also having your reports mean nothing as you hit the play again button only to have the same thing happen as Riot develops a new skin for Ahri

That is when you say "5 top? count me in!" and proceed to base race the enemy team with teleport spam to kill all the towers.

But seriously, pulling a crazy stunt like that can win you games if the other team isn't prepared for it.

Think about it for a moment, if there were no penalties to dodging then people would be leaving left and right the moment that anything happened that slightly lowered their perceived chances of winning. At the moment there is relatively little drawback, but enough to incentivize people to work something out instead of jumping ship if someone picks a champ that wasn't played in LCS recently.

Of course there are always going to be those who do not want to work with other people, who want a specific champ in a specific lane and woe to any who try to suggest otherwise. But this is a team game and working with others, even those you may not like, is something that you are going to have to do.

If you do not like the idea of your enjoyment in League being dependent on 4 other random people I would have to suggest either playing with friends or playing a game that is not a team based strategy. But remember in the end that your enjoyment and you satisfaction come down to you alone, you can have fun trying out strange different team comps (and honestly a 5 man push strategy is far from uncommon, its won quite a few competitive games) and you can even have fun while losing if you put yourself in the right mind set.

So with that in mind what I would have done is pick a champ that synergizes with a super push strategy but could also help the team keep it up, like Alistar with his team heals and his ability to tower dive. Then you make like Nunu Bot and push the lanes to your hearts content.

instead, rito, how about you fix this stupid system that we've been telling you to fix for YEARS

if there were no punishments for dodging, there would be very few games played [these days]. They would have to review each instance of dodging to determine if it was justified or not. Which is far to resource intensive (their report system is finicky enough).

Unfortunately, the most efficient system is to issue small punishments for each occurrence. This ensures people don't make a habit of it, while still minimizing the long-term impact of the punishment.

A few seasons ago, they tried removing the elo/lp penalty and increased the time. Every one from bottom of bronze up to pro players said the time spent waiting for a game to start was unacceptable. And a single dodge could shift someone from "I have time for 1 game" to "I don't have time to finish a game". They set it back to low time + point penalties.
