Getting Keys Is Far More Difficult Than Getting Chests. Slight Idea

What if getting an S+ gave you a chance of getting a key instead of a chest when you had a chest available to get on a champion?

Nothing feels more pointless than having 7-8 chests, 1 key fragment, then getting an S on a champ and getting another chest. It is just like "might as well keep it Riot". Key fragment drops are a bit random and derpy compared to how easy it is to get tons of boxes. I'm not saying just hand out free keys, but an S+ specifically seems like a good way to reward someone with a key, or at least give us another key fragment, or something. Otherwise it just feels like a tease.

I mean, I don't speak for anyone else, but personally I'll never spend rp on hextech crafting, so I'd like to be able to at least earn them to some extent rather than just grind until I get lucky.

Sucks only knowing how to play 2 roles and 9 champions. The keys keep flowing in but I'll never see another box again. :(

Can't you only get 1 chest per character? If you don't have many champs than you will be limited on the number of chests you can earn.

When I'm sitting on 8 chests, then that isn't something I'm really too concerned about

Actually I get a lot of S' but I've otten 19 chests total, because I only play 19 Champs, I just ran out of champs Im good at.

Then how did you get enough keys for 19 chests? You don't get enough key fragments in a month for that as you only get so many fragments and the chance gets lower and lower after each one (or so says Riot).

I honestly don't believe this because it shouldn't be possible unless you've never gotten an S or you never get an S. You'd have to play like 50 or 60 games AND have good luck to have that many key fragments and no chests.

That are you are buying keys and not admitting as such.

I've never run out of chests before keys ever. I've yet to have less than 3 at any time since I first got more than 3

Unless you rarely get an S you won't run out as infrequent as keys are, unless you are buying keys.

Yeah I was a bit confused by that. sure it is "Free essence" but I would rather them just remove it compared to the time it took me to remove all of them I had.

I think which one is more difficult to get is HEAVILY dependent on your playstyle. I've got 4 completed keys (not fragments) and no boxes because I only really play about four champions, whereas a friend of mine has several boxes and no keys because he plays a ton of champions and doesn't really main any one in particular.

I play maybe 3 in ranked and I still never run out of chests.

Doesn't matter how many you play in ranked, it matters how many you play total. I've got my 4 or so mains, but they're typically the only champions I play even in normals unless I'm actively trying to add someone to my pool, which makes getting chests nigh impossible most of the time.

No, because it's easier to earn chests than keys. I run out of available chests before I run out keys. You can only earn so many chests per month

It's gotta be one or the other man. But if you really are getting all of your possible chests and still have extra keys, congrats, you're the luckiest person alive. The rest of us don't have that.

If it is easier to get chests than keys, how would you run out of chests? Are you just making it up?

I have never had more keys than chests and I play a good amount. Key drops are terrible.

Because chests have a limit to how many you can earn. It's super to easy to win the 4 a month or whatever, but you can only win 4. Keys you can earn as many as you can get.

I don't even know how it is in any way possible to be quite frank, unless you play nothing but bot games and never get an S.

It is nearly impossible to have more keys than chests unless you are simply never ever getting an S. You simply don't get that many key fragments, and the more you get the lower chance to get them.

Not sure the point of lying about it lol
