Is anyone else disappointed in Riots last 12+ hours handling of the sever wide lag issue

I am not going to say the problem is Riots fault. Cause that would be unfair. I know that some things are completely out of riots hands. If major data centers have issues or DDoS attacks. I totally get it. Above riots power or owner ship.

What i do blame them for is the handling of this though. It took over 12 hours and I am not even sure if the problem is actually fixed yet. During those 12 hours riot repeatedly took the warning about the issues up and down. Making people think that everything was OK. Example of people thinking it was good to go play ranked.

Riot should of left ranked off until they knew things were fixed. Having ranked turned on is the equivalent of saying things are 100% operational. Obviously at this point they were not. Riot needs to step up the standard on this issue. Turning msgs off cause Riot hoped a problem went magically away is not acceptable.

If the NOC guys do not understand what happened to cause an issue and why it cleared up then ranked should stay off to verify that the problem has actually been taken care of.

So what do others think.

Not sure how much you know about servers - but they are fickle things indeed. It is VERY hard to keep them up and running, and when they go down, they become even more likely to do so. Finding the problem is a headache, solving it is hard, and often you don't know if what you did was the problem...or a symptom of another.

Now - that said, you are more polite than most of the QQ posts about it - but what, exactly, are you complaining about?

It took over 12 hours and I am not even sure if the problem is actually fixed yet. Are you claiming that this was intentional, or that they are deliberately not trying hard enough?

During those 12 hours riot repeatedly took the warning about the issues up and down. It's not like that was their intent. Unless you think they had motives ulterior to attempting to inform the community that the problem was fixed (or so they thought) why bring this up? Unless you feel Riot was trying to do ANYTHING but convey their belief the problem was solved, they did nothing wrong here.

Riot should of left ranked off until they knew things were fixed. Riot would not have enabled ranked unless they thought the issue was resolved. Unless, as stated above, you feel they intentionally enabled servers they were not done fixing, then this sentence means nothing.

Having ranked turned on is the equivalent of saying things are 100% operational. Obviously at this point they were not. Riot needs to step up the standard on this issue. Turning msgs off cause Riot hoped a problem went magically away is not acceptable. That is really rude, and presumptuous in assuming that riot basically turned the server off and back on. I would bet money they truly believed the problem was fixed. Unless, again, you think they have any motive other than trying to keep the game that pays them fun and operational. I don't know, maybe you do.

If the NOC guys do not understand what happened to cause an issue and why it cleared up then ranked should stay off to verify that the problem has actually been taken care of. As I stated at the start of this post: Servers are VERY complicated, and often when a problem occurs it causes other to occur - often, it is mistakenly believed that the cause has been identified and resolved, and only turning the server on and allowing customer access reveals their are still problems.

NOTE: This was not written to be insulting, though I may have come off that way - it was written to logically review your complaint, in a non-biased (or at least as minimally biased as I can muster) manner, and to offer Riot some advocating their defense, as I doubt they will post here.
