Respectfully Uninstalling and Leaving LoL
As a player who has been playing since season 2, on a bunch of different accounts, the passion and love I had for League of Legends is gone. I feel like almost all of the attention and work being done for the game is being catered around the LCS. The new generation of League of Legends players doesn't understand how the game was and how it actually started off because the LCS and that type of game are the only things they know. I am respectfully going to be uninstalling my League of Legends game and maybe come back to the game in 4 or more years. I cannot continue giving my time, voice, money, and passion to a bunch of Developers that only care about a select few champions every year . . . while a select handful is ignored. I cannot continue caring for a game where the Developers revolve a champion's kit around what is great for LCS matches, even if it already exists in the game, isn't done in a way that it is unique to the champion, or done very well.
THE REAL REASON I AM LEAVING,
I can respect the Developer's decisions if they can back it up with an intelligent conversation and passion, but that isn't the case when I see twelve responses about Ryze and his 4 reworks the past 4 years and maybe one response from the Development team that all have conflicting opinions about who, what, and how Karma is. Real Karma players who have been playing since season 1 and 2, know who Karma is. We know what Karma did before. We know what was absurd on Karma. We know what didn't need to be removed 4 years ago when you made unpassionate Developers, who did not know Karma at all, in charge of her "relaunch/rework". The real Karma community loved her fans, dress, shield bomb, lore, battlemage-like gameplay, item choices that didn't revolve around building shield/heal enhancing items and spamming one mantra ability the entire game. All I see now is a bunch of League of Legends players coming into threads and downvoting it because they feel that a champion that sits in the back and spams on ability, doesn't have a very unique and interesting gameplay, hardly any character or theme, the laziest and uninspired skin team that cannot be bothered to match the amazing splash art with the in-game model, and entire itemization built around one ability that shields everyone is better for her.
I have not seen a single Developer today show any passion and love for Karma. I have seen excuses, lazy work, continuing of numbers buff, lies, hypocritical responses, hardly any communication, nerf and remove abilities from one champion but give it to another, have an excuse as to why almost all Enchanter champions cannot be allowed to solo in a lane but other lanes are allowed to dominate what they are doing now and doing it better, a Development team ignoring failed reworks that remove almost everything the community likes about that specific champion, and much more.
This is so much more about Karma. The point I am trying to make is I feel like no Developer currently working can be bothered to care about Karma or even communicate with her for 4 years, but talk about another champion for 4 years and do work almost 4 plus times on him. I do not feel like the Developers care about the champion kits they rework and fail miserably at. I do not feel like the current Development team cares about this game one bit if it is colliding with the LCS scene.
When I first played this game I expected League to be a game that takes me out of my everyday boring life and fully immerse me into the world of League. I want to travel all around Runeterra and really feel like I am playing the champions I love. I do not get that one bit when I am playing Karma as of right now. Before her rework, I did get a sense of Karma and thought this. League is now 15% character and 85% LCS. An entire champion's kit and gameplay are decided by how well it works in the LCS, despite it being something else entirely before a rework. Riot's stance is that Karma is nothing more than a shield bot that builds shield/heal enhancing items. It is just like every other Enchanter hybrid champion that is not allowed to be in a solo lane. Riot cares what we are doing but doesn't care when a Velkoz, Annie, Brand, Malzahar, MF support is coming into our roles and lanes and doing it better because they feel like an Enchanter hybrid champion with a unique identity, kit, and gameplay is too much.
I called it many years ago. Riot will use any excuse they can pull out of a jar to not work on a champion and blame bad communication for all of it. These Developers will use time as an excuse to not revert horrible decisions and changes to champions they know was changed too much and the community despises. These Developers do not care.
I want the really passionate League fans to continue the good fight and voice your opinions and don't give up. I am giving up. I've had enough of this Development team. I am going to spend my time more wisely and go to the gym, meet new people, start a hobby, and more. There is no use trying to reaso with a bunch of Developers that no longer carea bout my favorite champion . . . . . or the game in general. Don't give up like me, please. There is only a few of you truely passionate fans out there.
