Questions @Board Mods

I was wondering, why are sticky threads not used as often for very good community posted discussions?

I often come across a discussion that I wish would stay near the top for longer then a single day.

There are often hot topics that get 10-100 threads all saying the same thing in different ways, wouldn't it reduce the clutter on the forums to just sticky one of the quality posts about the hot topics in lol?

This doesn't mean just any thread that has hundreds of views but rather you guys pick one that is professional, well thought out, and hits points you feel are accurate; yet about a topic that many people keep making new discussions about. They don't have to stay and if there are too many issues to cover just rotate some of the more popular ones every week.

I'm sure that every section of the Boards could benefit from this.

This place is not about discussion, I doubt the mods can do much to change it.

The way the Boards work in general in regards to "Hot/Recent" threads keeps a post that has a solid conversation going for as long as people wish to continue the conversation already.

Stickying a post is reserved for long-term information that needs to be made available whether or not there is a conversation going on about it.
