Riot: Please Explain Something About Certain Champions

Why do some champions have AP or AD scaling on only 1 ability when it is obvious that they will NEVER be built that way?

The most obvious example is with AP scaling on his W. Did you just forget to remove it when you decided to remove AP Yi from the game? The ONLY thing this does right now is give a TINY boost in heal for the Yis out there building .

And why does have AP scaling on his W? I have built on him in the past but mainly as a troll build; he is hard enough as it is to play competitively.

So I'm genuinely curious WHY you give certain champs scaling when you know if they use builds to make use of them they will be nearly useless for the team?

Its not only Triforce for Yi. He can get small boost in AP from various sources- Baron buff, Tarics Radiance. For example if u have master Yi with Baron buff, 1 or 5 stacks of drake buff, Tarics Radiance and Zekes proc, he can get small boost in ability power which boosts his healing a little. They simply dont remove it, because there is no need to remove it.

This is a good argument? Let me ask you this: If they would first be releasing Yi now, would he have it? No.

I think they are too busy with new champs to fix old ones even such a simple champ.

All this does is confuse new players. I've legit seen a lvl 8 guy in bots build rabadon on Yi saying "it gives him better survival than lifesteal".

They will learn with time. Its good to try different things. Also with arround 700 AP he can heal for arround 1400 hp total. Nashors, Deathcap, Ludens, Greaves, Sated devourer, Lich Bane. It can work in Bronze and Silver :D

Because they don't need to be removed, and the spells they are mapped to don't need to be given any other scaling. Let me put it this way: Do you want Yi's heal to scale off of AD? No, no you don't. Mundo is a tank, and doesn't really need good damage scalings.

Exactly, so don't give them any scaling. It's just dumb and misleading to new players.

Then they wouldn't really mean anything. Base values are dumb.

Riot likes encouraging off-meta builds as long as they don't break the champion. Adding these things are pretty nice for diversity.
