Good luck finding a support while everyone queues up as top or mid.
But seriously, comparing queue times in team builder (finding a support takes forever, queuing up as a support takes seconds) is noticable enough that I think ranked team builder is a bad idea. The point of ranked is competitive TEAM play, meaning your skills should be tested in teamwork as well as mechanics. This will just encourage complacency, turning people who say "Last pick? But I can't support!" from liars to people who *really *can't support. And, uh, other roles too.
Nothing can satisfy this community, can it? Riot releases information about a more effective way to play Ranked games and people start fussing about it and throwing out buckets of negativity. Maybe it does take a long time to find a support in normal Team Builder but complaining about it will get you nowhere. I'd much rather support someone in a Ranked game than in a Normal game. Why? I'll at least be able to play against serious opponents and with a team that might have 2 others who are serious, as opposed to a team in Normal Team Builder which will want to surrender as soon as possible. Also, maybe if teams didn't crap on Supports, they wouldn't be afraid to come out. If you want more on that topic search around on these boards, there are loads of threads with why people don't want to play Support anymore.
I think I'm one of the few people who enjoys playing Support and who actually signs up for it in Normal Team Builder, even with the crap, so you can bet your money I'll be playing Support in Ranked games, too. But not only cause I'll enjoy it, but because I'll want others to play games as well. I know Supports are hard to find in game but it's not difficult to try and play that role once in a while instead of getting upset over it. Play a game in the shoes of a Support and maybe you'll learn something.
The next big mistake in a long line of mistakes from riot.
Why bother learning the whole game when you now can be an idiot and do one role.

Top, Mid, JG, and ADC mains - Yay we get to play our roles without arguing with people.
Support mains - "Yay, no queue times."
The only reason I can think of this maybe being a bad idea is that it gets rid of bans and counterpicking. On the other hand, now you only need to be good with 5 champs?

They're actually going through with it? Can someone link me to the post? I'm not too worried about queue times as a support player, but there are days where I occasionally enjoy mid, top, and ad carry. I really hope I never have to jungle again in ranked.
Team Builder got ranked before Dominion.
I really don't like this. It gives players the reason to only play one role (top/mid) without knowing a thing about the others. These types of people make the WORST teammates. I can see it now:
Top: noob jungler never ganks Jungler: dude, I'm Sej, the jungle hits hard, and it's only been 5 minutes into the game. I'll get there when I can Top: reported noob
Mid: god this support never WARDS. you're a support! Support: umm...I can only put down a max of 3 and 1 pink bro Mid: shutup you lowly ward slave I actually need my gold unlike you
I'm surprised they didn't have ranked team builder before.
My only qualm about Team Builder and even Ranked Team Builder, is that Riot pigeonholed the bot lane, Marksman role, and Support role. You can find ranged junglers, AP tops, tank mids, and so on. But bot lane? Always one Marksman and one Support, even if they don't do much or make the rest of the team miserable. Your Marksman can be 0/17, and your Support can feed, but Riot WANTS you to do it nonetheless. That, I think, is the problem.
