Will we EVER be able to purchase/receive more PROJECT caches and stuff?

You can disenchant all project materials now for a wooping 2 orange essence. (TBH I would be fine with 0 essence, not complaining, I already received 3 shards for free). But I'm wondering if it's a smart thing to do since I haven't read any confirmation from Riot that they will be useless forever if you don't have enough materials atm.

So I'd just like a quick confirmation or a link to one.
