Are Riot Servers Worse Performance-wise Around Worlds?

Lately, it is uncommon for me, with a great PC and great connection (rarely do i DC in any other game, and i mean once every 6 months it losses connection to other games), but Riot Servers feel, and even for a low end game spec requirements wise, that it is busted as f lately.

Feels worse that Overwatch's former 20 tick servers. And now that Overwatch has better bandwidth, i noticed I get killed less weird (still die about as much, slightly better KDA these few matches, but overall now i know when it was my bad easier than before pretty much proving that i did deserve that SR60 S1 while leading me to also feel like i will miss the times 20 tick servers saved my life).

But league, i feel like almost dodging skillshots means nothing. I know ISPs have a busted ass way of connecting you to game servers and the internet was not built well around gaming, more like not built for it in America, but lately things are exponentially worse. Now i DC pretty much every game, get random ping spikes, and fps is more erratic.

Yet I play something more intensive, like Battlefield 4, and my FPS is relatively more stable (at capped) while in LoL capped fluctuates like if it was uncapped. Additionally, noticed that the bandwidth is quite more busted as i click Flash and Heals or other summs they sound off and appear to give the appearance of working, but then they never go off in game, never went on CD. When I play the game, the game doesn't seem to be super awful performance wise except for a dip in fps and ping spike (from 144 capped to more like frequent 100 fps, and 60 ping to 100 ping, respectively), only to find out abilities and summs dont go off (at least it isnt running at 20 fps or something like that, when I was able to hit 300 a while back no issues XD).

And noticed this is only getting worse close to Worlds like during Day 1 Ranked. Which leads me to think, Worlds OP for making more people play that it overloads servers. And it is consistent match after match, lately.

I don't think it is my internet or PC as much as the servers. Got new modem, my PC use to have worse issues with performance then i uninstalled Riot's Screensaver thing (was literally the cause of me disconnecting often for about a week and once i uninstalled it problems magically gone XD), upgraded hardware, and messed with ingame LoL settings to reduce from Highest setting to a notch lower, but LoL continues to get worse everyday performance wise.

Starcraft 2 runs GODLIKE on maxed settings. But then again it has a lower player cap per match.

Battlefield 1 Beta ran smoother than LoL on high settings for a graphically intense game. Overwatch with "great" tickrate feels smoother from August and onward (though May, June, July that tickrate was annoying, now I'd rather deal with that, but gladly Overwatch now, at least on PC, has improved upon that).

LoL feels as "unstable" as DOTA2, except that DOTA2 won't DC me. I hate DOTA2, it runs poorly even on great PCs when compared to LoL (at least for everyone i know), but connection wise it is running smoother as I don't DC in DOTA2 (though the fps issues are just as shit except year round). Now I assume after Worlds and after Day1 Ranked LoL will go back to running smooth, though so far its hectic.

It has gotten to point it seems I might either be getting into a pool of gamers also having issues with PC or connection, or even on the "not so frequent DC" pool of gamers are having issues. As pretty much every other game or every game more than one person walking into enemy team or just standing still in lane as if they are having issues like me XD. And some of these people state, like myself, they got PCs that should, in theory, run the game super smooth.

Just a little random thing i noticed lately. Not a rant though if i come off like that im sorry just randomly typed out thoughts while i had IWDominate on side of screen cracking me up.

If anything, more like a "holy crap fuck loads of ppl must play LoL round of applause ppl" (and obviously a fuck load do, but lately that number must be higher than average as it is making my Uranium powered PC feel like potato and my friends Hydrogen powered PC runs LoL like a cinderblock ^_^).

Hey there, sorry you're having these issues. In order to find out where this problem is coming from we need to run a few simple tests, so please head over to the Connection Troubleshooting Log Reader. There, you can submit the Network logs from your match(es) and the log reader will show if you were having ping spikes and packet loss.

It will then will direct you to solutions. Please work through the solutions it suggests, and if you need assistance or they do not work post on the Help & Support board and we'll try to help.

You can also narrow down the source of latency or packet loss by downloading the WinMTR Network Diagnostic Tool, then use that to run a traceroute to the following IP (allow this to run for 5-15 minutes);
