is every champ release like illaoi?
because it wasn't as big of a deal as I thought .it seemed like poppy update overshadowed it. even Riot was talking more about poppy and not illaoi so the community was.

illaoi wasnt a big deal because she wasnt so hugely OP like most of the new champs they put out. usually they let them be unstoppable on release until everyone buys them.
It was just cosmic bad timing on illaoi 's part people have been waiting on poppy's rework for years. That + the hype riot scruffy have made people lose their minds for the weeks to come. Now as for jhin( the next champ) he/she/it has a ton of hype due to the secrecy of their kit and the fact that he "killed" zed but if some reworkwith a ton more hype come out at the same time say taRic then jhin would be over shadowed too
Not precisely. Reworks aren't exactly common, and specially one as awaited like Poppy's.
Riot kind of dropped the ball wanting to release both before the end of 2015, as Illaoi was completely overshadowed. I mean, they DID successfully launch both, but there was little to zero fanfare about the new Champion.
