Are there any deaf players or people who hang around with deaf on a normal basis?

Went to FNM last night, went 3 - 1 with black white heroic, gonna try blue white next week, but that is besides the point. One of my opponents was deaf, and he once spent extra life, tapping to create mana when he didn't need to spend it, I tried explaining it, but he was deaf. It didn't really matter and I would have still won, but just kind of weird is all, any tips on the off chance I ever play against him again?
