Please stop wasting cool ideas and effort in giving him skins, specially if he has a good number by now and already has a similar-ish skin.

In regards to PROJECT: Yi, we selected Yi as one of the PROJECT: skins for a few reasons.

In regards to PROJECT: Yi, we selected Yi as one of the PROJECT: skins for a few reasons.
- Yi had a lot of potential when it came to fitting in with a PROJECT: thematic.
- We felt his kit had a lot of opportunities for interesting particles, especially for when he ulted.
- Master Yi hadn't had a skin since 2012, and in addition to that, his catalog of skins isn't super stacked. He doesn't have a lot of cool particles, recalls, or the other kinds of bells and whistles that a lot of newer skins had. PROJECT: Yi is a legendary skin, which gives Yi all of the things he was missing in his previous skins.
Yorick hasn't had a skin since his release in 2011, and his whole kit builds Pac-Man references without even TRYING.
But you gave the Arcade skin to Riven.

I'm not buying this logic until you apply it to every champion.

It was justified when Yorick was announced for a rework back in 2013.
Now, it's just an excuse. One that I bet wouldn't fly on a more popular champion :/
But fine, let's roll with it. I'll pretend the "incoming update no new skins" excuse deserves to fly for two years.
Sion has also not had a new skin since 2011.
So am I to take away from this that Yorick's not getting a new skin until well after the rework? Which could take who knows how long, justifying doing NOTHING for him in the meantime? And once his rework comes through, are we then to count his updated look as justification for him continuing to not get attention?
Forget wards, popularity is the most OP item in this game.

Yet infernal Nasus got a new rig that allowed riot to give him a surprise VU. Why doesn't the skin team do something like that for evelynn or taric? We'll do the new rig for you guys, you guys can then use it to springboard into a proper VU.

It really has been that long since Headhunter? Jesus, time flies.
The problem with Yi is that the only thing you can do with him is particles, he has nothing else that's remotely interesting to show like others that could be used to use in a skin, specially in a 1820 tier one (see above the silly Sion/Tank random idea).
I mean, I won't say that the skin is badly made at all, but as the title says, Yi is too boring of a concept for a technologic skin.

ArcticSirius3 votesYa I'm not a player of Yi, but I can't wait to see others play with this skin. So sleek, the VO is creepy/cool, the joke is great, and has particles on AA (I know right?). If you're a Yi player, I suggest check out Pawnce on twitch as he does PBE streaming so you'll be sure to check out the skin for yourself without wasting money (if you don't like it once it comes out)

Were there any other champions that you guys were considering for a PROJECT skin that didn't get picked? I feel like nocturne could have been one of those champions to fit this skin theme.I will say I'm glad that you didn't use him though because I am still hoping Nocturne is given a Boss skin :DD

His double-strike no longer lowers alpha strike's cooldown, same goes for sated devourer.

The Double Strike issue is something that came up again while PROJECT: Yi was undergoing testing. This issue has been resolved, and should be in the next patch.
Same with sated devourer's phantom hit.
I poked gameplay about this, and they're looking into it now.

Well, it was to not sound biased towards the Champions I like so I went with the Champion teaser route for all I care make it project Irelia or Nautilus. As I wrote my main gripe is that Yi is completely uninteresting as a character, he doesn't even give that much material to be creative with his skins, which is why most of skins only give him a differently sword and call it a day.

I'm glad Yi got a new skin like this; i think his VO (both vanilla and Project) are cool and fun, and i'll contend that Yi remains one of the best VUs that Riot has done (especially since many of the newer ones are so mediocre). These project skins are cool, and i'm glad Yi got one; my only regret is that i'm now going to see a ton of him in my solo que games.

I'm sad though because the skin he gets is SUPER FUCKING COOL, and I'd gladly buy it if it was for any champion other than Yi who I have no desire to play as.
