Why do perma-banned people act like they deserved a warning or a second chance?

With the recent waves of bans I've seen this behavior a lot, and it sort of baffles me. People seem to have the skewed opinion that they shouldn't be perma'd from the game or they should have been warned beforehand (sometimes through stupid arguments like "i spent 50000 dollars dis game!" and such).

Here is a heads-up: Even only having a single chat restriction means you're already on the red, and thus it's already a warning.

Riot is already letting you know that you're having your initial rights restricted because your behavior isn't falling into the allowed margin and you're becoming a liability to the community. Most of the cases the restriction/bans scale in gravity due to repeated offenses (I believe isntant perma's are extremely rare), hell, even the pop-up message that reads you have been reported quite a number of times is a warning already.

As for the second-chance point of view, a Perma is basically Riot letting you know that your shit won't be tolerated any longer and you aren't allowed in the building anymore. Speaking of buildings, it'd be the equivalent of an eviction letter because the neighbours have filed several complains about you to the landlord (and even in this scenario, we're assuming LoL would be a subscription based game).

So yeah, considering that in order to be allowed to freely play this game without the fear of being banned all you need to do is behave respectfully toward your peers, step it up and enjoy your stay, hell, you don't even need to be respectful, just not a total asshat. If you can't fullfill this basic requirement, then please clear your room by the end of the month and don't let the door hit you in the way out.

Well do you read the chat logs they link, half the times it isnt even that bad. If they ban people for critism i hate to see what the do with those that tell people to go dir irl or the feeders or the afkers

Just for clarity's sake, the warning pop-up isn't actually anything meaningful. It happens simply if you get reported by multiple people, before the system assesses those reports.

lol, some ppl don't learn their lessons, I got a one day ban once, two years ago, for leaving like, two games when my acct was like, lvl five, and haven't even been chat restricted since then, some ppl just don't seem to know that it CAN happen to them. I've legit seen a guy get mad in game, and say he doesn't give a fuck about being reported, and then the next day I saw the same username in the forums bitching about being permabanned, using how much money he'd spent on skins and shit as an excuse.

People can get around chat restrictions easily tho. 7 minute dominion bot games and your chat restriction is gone. No one learns anything from it. People get a 14 day ban, and they just hop on another account and play it while still being toxic as hell. You can also just spam after the game and be very toxic and riot will take longer to look at that post game chat to determine punishment or not.

Riots system is also improperly flagging people for warnings and bans. It doesn't matter that you did nothing wrong, but if you have 3 bad games in a row, the system will count you as an intentional feeder and ban you anyway. You could say nothing in pre game, in game, and post game chats and still get a pop up for offensive language. I realize that nothing will happen in these false claims, but it affects a players psyche. "If I'm going to get a warning anyway, why not do something that deserves it" .

I would honestly love for someone to sit down with riot's punishment system and actually find out the numbers of legitimate warnings, bans, chat restrictions, vs the number of false ones.

There's this sense of entitlement with people. They don't ever consider themselves bad enough to be banned, and so they never actually consider that it might happen to them. Then, when it does, they feel like they deserve a second chance, because now they know it can happen to them! That changes everything!

But seriously, people need to wake up. Bans happen. If you're an asshole, it'll happen to you. So don't.

The thing is they do get warning. People get chat restriction, bans, and warnings after their games. They usually ignore all those types of warning and get surprised when its finally a Permaban. its like they think its a joke. But really the childish way they think is just annoying. like when people get really toxic and use Curse/hateful/racist/homophobic/etc words in their chat, and they think that shouldnt be consider toxic. Or that when someone starts to flame, and they flame back, and uses the excuse that the other person started it so they shouldnt get ban. Again its something a child would say and in the real world people wouldnt use that as an excuse because you should know better by now.

All in all this is why its really hard to actually believe people are innocent with them being Ban. especially when they show their chatlog (which doesnt show every game they are toxic in) its apparent as to why their ban was justified. People just need to stop lying and face the facts. If you are toxic, or break any of the rules/ToS/Summoners Code you will get ban. Sooner or later!

Can you just let them be and have fun with the game? What's the point of this whole thing, garner upvotes from people by shaming flamers? Isn't that kinda redundant?

Bottom line, you went out of your way to post such a eluquated post to essentially grief as much as the griefers themselves, for no real reason other than prove to yourself how superior you are compared to them. What a waste of time.

I've gotten popups saying that I got reported because some "random a*s salty f"ckers" decided to report me even though I did nothing at all. Does that mean my warning is gone???

TL;DR - There needs to be a better warning system beyond the report warning windows because they can be triggered by false reports. At the very least, chat restrictions need to be the "warning punishment" before chat-related bans are imposed.

I was 2-week banned about 2 years ago.

I had not been punished in any way prior to that 2-week ban. No chat restrictions, nothing. Just banned out of the blue.

Took me 3 weeks to get my chat logs to see what I did wrong because Riot's Player Support refused to give me anything besides the generic copy-paste responses that bots give.

When I got my chat logs, I did realize I was toxic. However, the kicker is that my behavior wasn't insulting people ("lol noob" "fuck off %%%got"), I wasn't issuing death threats, I wasn't exhibiting racism or homophobia. I was retaliating against players who were toxic to me first, and I wouldn't shut up or let them have the last word.

Honestly, I should have gotten a chat restriction as a warning, like "chill out dude. here's what you're doing, now cut it out, show us you can change". And my 2-week ban could have been avoided.

Now, you could say "the report warnings you get should be warning enough", but the problem with that is, you get those report warnings EVEN IF they are false reports. Sure, Riot says the system filters/disregards those false reports (and I trust that), but you still get the warning.

So when I say "ggez" for a game that I LOST and I get the report warning for "Offensive Language", I'm automatically gonna assume it was a false report and move on. Or by the pattern of my punished toxic behavior, when a viciously toxic player lashed out at me in-game, and I responded to them, when I get a report warning for "Verbal Harassment", I automatically think it was the instigator who is trying to get back at me with a bogus report. 'Course, the other players on my team probably reported me too for ruining the game in chat, but that doesn't cross my mind when someone who is toxic in the first place lashes out at me.

In any case, I think there are ways to improve the Player Behavior system. -Chat restrictions SHOULD ALWAYS precursor 2-week or permanent bans (if those punishments are chat-related).

-The reported player should be able to look at the reports sent in against them, exactly as the players who submitted the reports filled them out. And be able to read them IMMEDIATELY in order to actually understand what was wrong, to eliminate the idea of it being a false report.

-Maybe the reported player should know WHO reported them from that game, so that when the player was disputing with another toxic player, they could know if it was the other toxic player who "retribution-reported" or if it was a report from someone else on the team. And it's not like the reported player can harass the others after end-game lobby. Deny friend requests that the reported player sends, or just leave the request hanging so that you are not spammed with them.

Just my two-cents.

I personally just think you're all emotional bitches. I don't think cry babies should get to play competitive games. From preseason track meets, basketball and football games it was constant trash talk and criticism the whole seasons. Constant trash talk in the military and college on the basketball teams, even just working on the F18s in the NAVY, we're competitive about who does the best job. From Mortal Kombat X, Injustice, Ultra Street Fighter 4, NBA 2K16, Madden 15 tournaments are full of trash talkers.

And if you sissies had it your way, every athlete and true gamer on this planet would be banned from your sport.

I'm so competitive, it doesn't matter what I'm doing, I'm going to trash talk. Even if we're doing recreational hat knitting, I'm going to let you know that my hat is the best hat and your hat sucks. If you cry, then you're not worthy of being in the same room as me from the start. You talk trash back to me and we'll probably end up being best friends for life because we're all really nice people.

Sit in the LoL World's crowd and hear the shit that comes out of people's mouths as they spectate pro players. Guess we should ban the whole audience.

You're the type of people who want a trophy just for trying and tell your mommies and daddies when somebody says you don't deserve it. All of my silver and bronze medals are in the trash. They're worthless to me, if it's not the gold, you can keep it.
