@Ironstylus, Malzahar VU? Also, some tidbits on Caitlyn.
Ironstylus, I remember roughly a year and a half ago, one of your mates had ACTUALLY posted a list of 7-11 champions who were due for VU's. It very well may have been you. I can't remember. Regardless, I have yet to be able to find that exact list since then but something I did remember is that Malzahar and Kassadin were very close to each other. Either right next to each other or on the opposite sides of twitch. The list itself seemed to be in chronological order as well as the RED OP stating that it's kinda in order with a give or take basis.
Malzahar is my favorite champion and who I owe a lot of my successful games to. Is there any word on his VU?
I really hate his can opener thumb :c Can Opener Thumb Screenshot via puu.sh
Would be thankful for any word on it! c:
Also, I suggested my piece for Caitlyn. you were part of a discussion board 1-2 weeks ago about Caitlyn's reimplementation. I made a very long suggestion but I don't think it got around to you. This is that post:
INTRO:
As much as I love Caitlyn's hat, unfortunately, a VU might instigate the loss of the hat. However, I think I found something we can all share and love and tie Caitlyn too. ParrotMan, first I'd like to say that about a year and a half ago, a Rioter personally made a topic on a Caitlyn VU or theme change. This Rioter actually used the picture brought to attention by Hellioning (http://bit.ly/1hZACUn). It's very clear that Caitlyn has been dabbled over about her theme and I'll have to agree on the general consensus that something just feels off with her. I've been developing some thoughts for MONTHS. I love Caitlyn. She's my main ADC paired with Sivir. She was my first Pentakill and she's helped me through a lot of troubling games. I just want to express first how heavily I care for Caitlyn and that I onlyh wish good for her with any opinionated statement I make.
Her Problems:
So let's roll into it. Her current state is kinda moot. As other people have pointed out, Jayce, Vi, and Ezreal all have a more matched theme together. Ezreal being the small outlier because of his outfit however, he actually goes and and does more physically so his light-weight utility outfit is handy. Anyway, none of Caitlyns skin's, even officer Caitlyn, really catch her NEEDED theme as well as it could, EXCEPT for Sheriff Caitlyn. It's old and rustic. The coloring fits more to the yellow/brown feel of a modernized and more refined Pilotover(Steampunk). THe technology has been more modernized (Hextech) and thus requiring less parts and a more sleek design. While Sheriff Caitlyn's design, imo, is flawless, it needs to be rolled forward.Other than that skin, Caitlyn as a whole lacks direction. We've heard that with about 90% of the VU's so far but it's not just a static aesthetic lack of direction, I personally feel her lore needs to be added upon.
Stick with me here...
A pilot. More specifically a Zeppelin/Blimp/Airship Pilot. And not a the STRICT definition of a pilot either. Just... her main way of attack. When I think of Caitlyn, I think more of a Bounty Hunter who walks the fine line between Justice and Brutality but with just the right amount of finesse to warrant it. Aesthetically she's classy, she's sexy, she's polite. Mechanically she's efficient, she's smart, and she takes the initiative. Caitlyn gives me a Big Brother feel BECAUSE of these traits. If I lived in Piltover and was a common criminal, word of Caitlyn being in town would give me tingles on the back of my neck and I'd always feel like I had a sight on my head. But not just around town. Up in the air. I'd be plotting robbing a store and I'd catch wind of a city-goer talking about how efficient Caitlyn is and how safe Piltover. I'd hear the city-goers child shout out, "Look! It's Caitlyn's ship". I'd look up and see a small Zeppelin/Airship/Blimp slowly moving around in the air above Piltover knowing very well that on the deck of that Zeppelin, there sits a classy women sipping on tea with her rifle hitched on the ledge of the Zeppelin Deck watching for criminals and listening for cries of help: The ultimate eye in the sky. If Caitlyn really wanted to be as effective as possible, what would stop her from getting a permit signed by the state and it's people granting her a luxury-for-one airship to watch over Pilotover with? Enough with my fantasties. We're talking about a VU here. So!
Exibit A: Blondie and Rocket from the movie "SuckerPunch":
-Blondie: (http://bit.ly/1gcTP1S)
-Rocket: (http://bit.ly/1n7ELKJ)
Blondies modern style with her bustier is incredibly sleek and fit for a modern fighter. With a more "pilot" look. Give it her classic purple tone, add some golden snaps or buttons and perhaps some frill, and you have a classy, alluring, and sleek look from her chest to her hips to her groin.
Now Rocket is our influence of a pilot and to finish off the flare of our Sherrif. Take her thigh highs and turn them into golden (and possibly spur) clad heels, and you have all the original appeal of the original Caitlyn but with a sleeker fit. Add the fishnets from Rocket onto Blondies outfit and you have that sex appeal. No I don't sugar coat things. That's what it is in a nutshell. I don't dance around something. I'll just outright say it because I'm not embarrassed. MOVING ON!
Exibit B: Her rank/prestige and luxury.
How might our lovely lady still show off her prestigious position? Some good old fashioned steampunk style. We're still talking about our Sherrif here. We're still talking the Cog on the Belt and old school snap traps. We are STILL oldschool. A pauldron, or perhaps some gauntlets? Or how about a spring-assisted pistol mount? Anything you see here could be used to add flare to her.
Exibit C: A new favorite
(My choreographer side incoming)... Imagine if a you will a camera zooming in on the deck of Lady Piltover's Airship. Her head is leaning down out of our view as she stirs her tea. No sugar because she's a badass like that. Her rifle butt is leaning in her lap with the barrel hanging over the side of the deck. She lift's her head, tips up her hat (http://bit.ly/1fuj4Lq) and gives you a wink.
Cherry on top. The old Caitlyn top hat could never be replaced. And this isn't replacing it. I want to associate another memorable and one of a kind hat with my lady. This hat has finesse, class, and prestige. With the goggles added onto it, you have a classic steampunk throwback.
...
Now of course, if you were to mill back and throw all these pictures together, you may get an abomination, but that's where Mr. ParrotMan and his hardy crew come in. I've had this image in my head for a long time and I honestly believe that THIS is the future of Caitlyn. No longer just a Sheriff.
Sheriff Caitlyn, Sky Captain of Piltover.
