Do you max e or q first on olaf.
I am having some mixed results with both and I want to know which one I should max first.

It depends on the matchup and your playstyle.
You could check how some pro players are building Olaf and have they skill in certain situations/matchups here.
Max E in most match ups, max Q against ranged champions.
Q for jungle.
