It's quite frustrating . . .
. . . When your favorite champions become FotM and then are nerfed because they work too well in the meta.
For example, my top 5 favorite champions have always been
with
joining in after his release (I started January of 2013). What is frustrating is this:
worked well in season 3 because the popular strategy was teamfighting. It wasn't the only way to win, but it was the most popular. Because Zac was so strong in that "meta" he was nerfed to bring him in line. Once the popular strategy shifted in S4 to sieges, Zac has struggled to be even an effective pick.
was strong in S4 because of his anti-siege capabilities. He was tuned back a little to keep him in line, and now he is rarely ever played, and struggles to be effective most of the time.
became strong when dive comps were popular in S5. His AoE stun/burst/zone control made him effective at stopping the mega-tank engages that were everywhere. He also was great at stalling out a game. He was nerfed to a point where he was in line, and again, struggles to make a name for himself now.
is popular today because there are about 2-4 marksmen being played on a team per game. She excels at shutting them down from range, making her a strong choice. I'm terrified of nerfs to her because she has struggled in the past up until about a month ago. Nerfs will make her almost useless after the popular strategies switch.
I'm terrified of next season when
potentially becomes popular. The pattern has been consistent up until now, why should I expect it to change? He already struggles (even though I do well with him) so nerfs will just make it worse for him when it's all over.
