Where'd all the Braums go?

Been testing out Braum this free week and it has me wondering why I almost never see him anymore. It's free week for him and I'm still barely seeing the guy. He's easy to play and has about everything you'd want in a support. He's tanky, he's the best support when it comes to taking a bullet for his teammates, his passive can be unbelievably easy to stack, he has one of the best shields as far as supports are concerned (Morg's Queen where that's concerned, though), and his ult is a multi-target knockup. Is it just because he's not "OP" like, say, Thresh or Blitzcrank? He is one of the most balanced supports in the game, as far as I can tell. Is it really that simple?
