Renting champs in league?

I'm really down to try out a few new champs to increase my repertoire, but it's just too damn time consuming for me to save up 4.8 or 6.3k in IP for each new champ I wanna try, whom I may not even enjoy playing. Sure, there's a few champs that I can try for free each week, but out of the 100 or so champs, there are often quite a few that aren't selected; whom I'd also like trying.

I mean, I wouldn't mind dropping 500 IP to try out, say, Rengar before I have to commit with a massive 6.3k in IP (which, for me, equals like 2 or more weeks of gaming), so, why not set up some form of renting system in the League of Legends store? Costs could scale in contrast with the full-purchase cost of the champion so that you wouldn't be paying the same amount for a super cheap champ vs. a more expensive one, a feature which could be very helpful for newer/casual players in the league community ( ---> Me ).

This is a really excellent idea. Heck, it would even let people try out Yorick before fully buying him, so more people would be able to intelligently discuss his eventual rework.

Maybe if you rent the champ long enough and pay the full IP cost in rent, you unlock the champ.

That doesn't sound bad at all! This should be in champ seslct though so u can ''rent'' that champ for that only game (sounds a bit complex but I think that Riot will find a way to do this IF this is ever going to happen)and if someone leaves champ selsct u always get a refund(like ARAM dice rerolls). If this ever happens,I believe that there would be Yorick everywhere(he never goes F2p....Literraly NEVER item 3070.just imagine how many people r Willing to try him!plus me tbh... :d )

this seems like a great idea. I would also include a duration option to the purchase. Rent them for a game, or 5, with discounts for buying in bulk. I'm with you, I hate saving up for a 4.8 or a 6.3 champ only to dislike them, I've done it before and don't want to do it again. I have friends who own most of hte champs, so I can try them out and watch gameplay vids, but renting them would be helpful.

I would like a multi game rent so you can try out different items/positions for a champ (e.g. AP top lane Zac does not equal full tank support Zac)

I think a really cool idea would be a "Try them" feature where you can play them in a bot game without having to buy them or wait for them to be free. And then put a limit on the number of times you can try out champions in a non-bot game.

why not just have a monthly subscription that allows you to play whomever you want.
