@Lyte Really, what's up with this?

So I just got done serving a 2-week ban on last Friday. The day before yesterday, my Plat border and other end-of-season rewards were removed (after being added to my account). Today I just got a chat restriction for 58 games and ranked banned for 29 games (I forget the exact numbers).

I'm asking how in the hell can you possibly justify this many punishments in such a small amount of time. I never use swearwords unless it's meant in a completely non-derogatory way. Same with racism and all that other stuff. Support sent me chat of me calling somebody "idiot" and "kid" after I asked them why I got banned. Apparently we're done with the quality of the language and moving straight to quantity, completely disregarding the way my teammates act and moving straight to my own Tribunal history.

On a btw, my last game I played, I was hard-core trolling my friend by telling enemy team to report him, but I was joking and I even told them so after the game ended--It would be extremely pathetic if this was the reason I got chat-banned, because I would expect the Tribunal to actually see who I was complaining about and realize that it was somebody on my friend list, with whom I'd obviously be joking around (still never swore in this game either).

Erm, you do realize that harassment isn't okay in any form, right? If you're being derogatory towards another player, it doesn't matter which way you do it...

I'd suggest using the /mute all feature if you can't go without retaliating to a fight, and just try to keep your negative thoughts in your head.

That's the thing. I haven't been harassing in my games; I've been harassed myself. That was probably 2 games ago--There was an LB who called me autistic. After the game she reported me for abuse. Undoubtedly the Tribunal nitpicked the few lines I was replying to her. I didn't insult her either.

After that, I got into a queue with her and I had to dodge, which irritated the hell out of me--I dodged because the same LB was in my champion select. I beg the Rioter who responds to this to check out what LB was typing in game.

For instance, let's say you're on a solo group, in normal, as ADC. After your support did a pretty bad engage, he and his top and jungle premade start swearing to you. Pissed off, you say "stfu you're noob". Well, you contribute to the bad game your mid laner is playing.

Chat ban 100,5% deserved. How does the enemy team -or your pickups- knows he's your friend? Even so, do you think they like having the all chat spammed by "report XXX"?

Yep, exactly, actually it's broken. On a maintenance to be correct.

To replace it, Riot now check EVERY. SINGLE. CASE the chat restriction script is reporting as negative.

Name one other MMO that goes this far into anti-toxicity. Lyte or someone else will probably post chatlogs of me "insulting" someone with sarcasm--Compare this to games like Maplestory (whose average age is smaller than that of League's) where people swear over every single little thing that happens.

Well, that's not a good thing. I don't like players who swears, and I'm sure most of the players agrees.

Oh and sarcasm ain't good either.

I'll go through this paragraph by paragraph...

  1. You're correct here. However, this is still self-defense albeit verbal defense. I'm not saying you get to swear the living Jesus out of some kid who calls you an idiot, but the fact that you weren't the one looking for trouble should be considered.

  2. and 3. Nobody muted me. It's cute you would assume that. Plus I wasn't insulting anybody, I just said to report my teammate. Trolling in chat doesn't get you banned last time I checked so I don't know how you can say that I deserved the chat ban.

  3. It's not "we", it's Riot. If Riot can check logs, they can (and they DO, actually) check in game statistics as well, although I'm not sure if "friend" is considered there.

  4. and 6. It wasn't things like "idiot" and it wasn't even close to that. I called our LB a 0/4/0 god about 4 times throughout the game after she called me an autistic (she was still talking crap entire game too).

  5. Yes, and it's idiotic. It should be removed. It's not doing its job. I'm an extremely loyal player (I have like 1.3k games in solo queue alone) and more often than not I actually win games--If I win games how can my teams be upset with me, even if I was swearing at them to the moon (which I don't do btw)? I don't consider myself a toxic player and in my average game I'm not toxic. Period.

  6. I still have no idea why Riot decided to go all ape into anti-toxicity. Was it to distract community from a bigger problem? Was it because they just had a surplus of money? Or was the problem actually that bad? I highly doubt the last one. The amount of toxicity I encounter is the same as it was back in the beginning of season 3. Little has changed, and Riot will say "[insert inaccurate number here]% of players have improved their behavior since this new Tribunal punished them!"--They'll fail to say that most of the players they punished either left or are permanently banned.

  1. The fact is there was another self-defense system that would have done the same (even more) without hurting the players who were out of your "discussion", and that is "muting". You could and should have muted, and by doing so you would not have been tagged as negative by the others (in my example above, the midlaner)

  2. I muted you? [/joke] The "calling to report" is forbidden, for many reasons. First, it creates (or worsen) a bad ambiance in your team. Second, it is useless since the system doesn't care about how many reports one have received in one game, it only cares of the number of games in which he has been reported (So, 1 report = 9.)

  3. No they don't check games stats. Because... Well, who cares if you have 658746 kills in 10 minutes (Well, maybe not that much but you got the idea) when you are flaming like hell? This guy here is the number 1 Challenger in EUW. This is the proof Riot doesn't care about how good you are. And the "friend" part... If you are on a 5 premade group, the system won't check your TEAM chat (but it will for the /all chat and post-game), for obvious reason. However, if you are, say, on a 4 premade group, it means you have a pick-up (#CaptainObvious), and he doesn't know you're premades, and even if he knows he doesn't have to bear your "jokes".

  4. Let me quote your original post : "Support sent me chat of me calling somebody "idiot" and "kid"". You DID call someone an idiot. And with what I said from 1 to 3, we can say two other things : 1) Even if you called someone an idiot in self-defense, you shouldn't have, it would have been better if you muted. 2) Even if you jokingly called one of your friends an "idiot"

  5. Wait. You mean Riot should stop checking cases? (Because YES, they do) And as I said above, winning doesn't mean you are not toxic. Also, yes, I belive you when you say you're not toxic in your average game. But there are too many "non-average" games in your case.

  6. Well, they decided to go all ape into this because, as I stated in another post, when someone gets flamed, they feel bad, uneasy. And Riot doesn't want their players to feel this way. I began playing in the middle of season 3 (July 7th to be precise), so I have no memory of the "pre-Tribunal", but I got flamed a lot. Yesterday I played two games, and there was flamers in both. If we were November 28th 2013, at that time I wouldn't have been surprised. Now, I do am because it was the shut down of a 20 games no-flaming spree. So from my pov, yes, the community got better. (Oh and btw Riot only counts active players) EDIT : Maybe that's because I'm talking of EUW and not NA, two differents servers so maybe two differents philosophies...

  1. I usually do mute, however if you're not toxic in your self-defense (or only slightly) you shouldn't be punished.

  2. ? I've never read a rule where telling people to report someone jokingly and after the game telling them not to report is forbidden. Nobody muted me because they were all too busy calling each other out and they responded to me.

  3. Riot does check stats of the game. This is for things like intentional feeding.

  4. The "idiot" chatlog was from a prior offense. I haven't said dumb, idiot, kid, or any of that crap AFTER my ban. I say "lmfao" a lot but I use it in a non-toxic way (if someone tells a joke or if someone failed flash).

  5. and 6. Obviously winning doesn't mean you're not toxic. I'm saying people shouldn't even be punished for being toxic. You have to deal with a bunch of bull in solo queue (like, oh I don't know, feeding, AFK'ing, and UNWARRANTED toxicity) and that only increases for Jungle Mains (like me!), bull that Riot can't be bothered to fix. They don't punish the people who started the fight--They punish people with the biggest history (like me). Btw show me where Riot counts only active players in their statistics. Because they don't.

Lyte had stated on twitter that tons of users had received rewards when they weren't supposed to. You need to realize that you are the key factor in all your reports and only you can change your attitude. What you say effects everyone including yourself positively or negatively in the game. You don't want to be another Lyte Smite victim save the embarrassment.

You must be that toxic to receive ranked restrictions and the removal of your ranked rewards. This season, rip out your enter key and look what happens, you will finish your restrictions clean and your ranked restrictions; clean.
