Gifting Rakan/Xayah

Does the icon you get for that immediately get added to your account? I've seen plenty of people with their icon, but I do not have mine yet even though I gifted it with IP. Just curious if I just need to wait. I also didn't get the icon for playing 2 games with a Xayah/Rakan as Rakan/Xayah yet.
