Seasonal events aren't seasonal?
I always thought the purpose of having events like The Harrowing and Snow Down was to bring some holiday festivity into the game, excite the player base a little with some holiday cheer.
Harrowing and Halloween sound almost identical. Really you might as well just call it Halloween, but we all understand that you change the name to make it fit into the game a little more. That’s to be expected from any game. Even if Snow Down and Christmas aren’t the same in name, we all understand it’s a festive time in the year where fun times are had in the snow. You know... like Christmas.
You’re free to throw your own flare into the mix, no one is saying you can’t. But when you deliberately go out of your way to try and sound like you actually put thought into this, and considered your player base, it’s not going to be received well.
Even after that huge wall of text you guys put up, the only things I really got out of it were:
We don’t want to plan events for the holidays, because we want to do them whenever we feel like it.
Our lore is too special and unique to be tied to the real world holidays. Even if they were created from real holidays.
You’ll like it if we do it some other time anyways, so we’ll just do that because it’s more convenient for us.
We don’t care if it’s seasonal or not. You’re just going to have to deal with it because this is how we want to do it now.
At this point I don’t think there’s a remedy for the situation you’ve created. The boards are flooded with post after post about how badly you’ve goofed up. But I’m sure there will be no change of heart from you. Just the same old tired excuses of how you’re trying something new, and how you’ll see how it goes. Followed by some mundane posts from rioters about how these changes are good for us.
