Whether you love or hate Dominion, wanted to play it all the time or forgot it was there, this is kind of a bummer.

It is official: "We’re permanently disabling Dominion and removing the Crystal Scar from custom games on Monday, February 22."

So with people asking for other game modes to get attention, and other maps to give more flavor to the game, Riot is responding by completely removing a game mode they abandoned to collect dust. Instead of balancing it, advertising it, making it more attractive, they are going to officially delete the gamemode as well as the map it is played on.

I won't pretend I played Dominion all the time, but I am disappointed that this is the outcome.

I guess if you did play it at least, you get a summoner icon if you have 100 matchmade wins (which probably about 7 people do).

I support their decision, because I have a feeling they'll bring back a reskinned, updated Dominion as a featured game mode.

Besides, they may keep the map for player customs, and people who loved it get the icon.

They are completely wiping it, so the map won't be there for custom games.

Whatever. It's not like it matters, Dominion can't be fun to play for even the people who liked it, because no one plays it.

I still think they'll use it as a featured game mode.

I'm sure they will, as Ascension was a perfect example of a fun and different game mode that made decent use of that map. Maybe it's not bringing Ascension back completely, but I'm sure they won't rule out using the map assets for featured games in the future.

Nobody plays it because the Q TIMES are too long, and because they promised us ranked DOM then never delivered. I love dominion and would play it if it was possible to find a match

The queues are so long because no one plays it.

It's a catch-22. If no one plays, the queues will be long. If the queues are long, less people will play.
