Toxic support players

I know the cliche is that the support player is always nice and innocent and the ADC is a jerk. But in my experience when I go bot lane this isn't the case. When I play ADC the support criticizes me for every mistake and blames me for everything, when I play support the ADC I'm with is usually nice and thanks me for help. Has anyone else experienced this?

Git Gud and we won't have any reason to criticize you :^)

there are supports like that but they are mostly Thresh mains and any "supports" Annie Zyra ect.

Honestly, being a support main that doesn't do that, you have to stick yourself into their shoes. Being a support, you CANNOT carry yourself, you have to rely on some stranger, if you're soloqueuing or with a friend if you're duoing or more. You have to put YOUR trust into someone who you have NEVER played with before and hope they can carry you and themselves.

I criticize when the time calls for it. " We shouldn't fight, we don't have item advantage. " I can be a jerk, or I can be nice. It all depends on how you treat me. If you tell me to stfu and you know what you're doing, I'll treat you like shit for making simple mistakes. Be chill with me and I'll be chill with you.

Respect is a two way street. Simple as that. It may be a game, but it's nonetheless real people and real emotions.

Same, I love playing both roles, and i get more problems with being bitched at as Adc then as Support. Honestly thought i felt so as the only one here.

Support main here. I have rarely ever said anything bad about my teammates and prefer to keep a cool head in game. Only time i have all month is an adc i was paired with only had 3 cs in 5 minutes. I just called them a newbie as he/she just feed regardless of me trying to help save them. I went top and helped snowball our top and won that game i believe. Anyway, I'm usually getting the all caps saying "soraka why didn't you heal me? You uselss piece of s*** support. You suck so much, cant carry this bronze noob" Little did this ezreal know is that my heal actually has a cooldown that i have to wait for..... [slayer-jinx-unamused]

In the past adc's developed this negativity towards supports, but I would say it's pretty much gone.

I don't see much of this from supports (to be honest I mostly play support and jungle, so maybe I'm the jerk :0).

I do find I communicate requests that could be seen as being bossy. I often ask my ADC to "just cs". I aggressively zone out the other team most games on a tanky support. It is not my intent to be bossy, but when my ADC moves into the minion wave and tries to unload on their support, drawing minion fire when there is a low percentage chance of doing more damage then he will take, I request they just cs.

I also keep an open mind when my ADC says something to me that may seem short.

Takes 3 csbecause of AoE "reported" "FKING noob support" annoying spams pings even though I get it, while he stands still and misses more farm

Also, if you are missing cs, I'll take the stuff you are missing. Don't whine 'bout it.

To all the ADC-Mains and Support-Mains commenting here: I don't think that you have an objective view to this topic. I for my case can't (and won't) comment wether one or the other roles has the "more toxic players" in it, because I'm an adc-main (a bad one actually ^^' ) The reason for that is: Considering you get your main-lane most to all of the time you won't have the negative ones of your role in your team. For Example: If you play ADC you get all the good, the bad and the ugly(toxic) supports but rarely any other adcs because you try to get that role yourself. For the supports it's exactly the other way around. So I think the most objective view on this topic would someone have that is neither adc-main nor support-main. #JustMy2CentsOnThis

Every time I adc: Hey support want to get a support item?:NO WHY WOULD I WASTE MONEY ON THAT SHIT NO DMG BREH I get first Blood, support:why u waste ur mana? now u cant farm DONT WORRY ILL TAKE IT ALL FOR YOU! I outfarm the other team, support: why do u sit botlane help the team ffs I ask to go for dragon once I push my lane and get tower, support: Why dont u solo it since ur so useless? about 8 min into the game, support: Fuck you Im going to roam(goes and kills both skuttlers; dying approx 7 times trying to) Yeah that just about sums it up. I'm a jungle main, I don't adc anymore, I'd rather dodge.

Owltears11/23/2015, 11:52:23 AM1 votes

I play support and normally unless I play with friends the ADC is a jerk, but when I play top and a friend is bot as support the ADC is a 50/50 that they'll be nice or a jerk.

There's no point of crying over spilled milk when my adc refused to heal me and they didn't even csed well or harass enemy bot lane when they said they were an adc main. I jumped ship and roamed top with jungle and proceeded to carry. I got three honours from my team guess who didn't honour me my adc. She stopped talking because she knew I was right.

I'm a support main, but I've been trying to learn adc and mid for the sake of having several roles I can play if I can't get my primary role.

Anyway, I was playing adc one day with a Thresh "support". Yeah... He bought support items and all, but kept hitting minions in-lane. In the end I had to ask him to stop, because it seriously screwed up my farming (not even that good to begin with). "Ok" he said.

Thinking the issue was resolved I kept playing, he went back to base and... Returned with a doran's blade. He then began farming like crazy and we had a private war down bot to get the farm. Surprisingly enough I experience quite a few negative, toxic support players when I don't play support myself. Being a support main I also know how most, if not all supports work and it hurts my soul when I see a way they could have easily saved us both with the click of a button at the right time.

Suppose each role has good and bad players (talking toxicity and trolling here).

Gaddafi11/23/2015, 2:10:55 PM1 votes

That happens :D

Just last night i had unpleasant experience. Well, usual stuff you know :D

I picked Sivir ( like 2nd time in last few months, and i wan't to play her more as i really like her reward skin and burst with W ) and got Sona as support. Great, let's have fun. It was team builder match.

I didn't have good start ( was like 10 cs behind ) against Lucian and Tahm. But that was it, i know i was a bit rusty 'farm wise' and was playing too safe, but hell, i know when i get my item 1038 and item 3087 that Luc will feel big pain, so why not safely wait.

Anyways, we got killed by nice gank from enemies and when we got back in lane i am not sure why but i got '' you are not very good Sivir ''. I just wrote, '' ok muted ''. And proceed to play. Now i know i had missed CS and few chances to out trade Lucian badly but i knew it, i misused my shield almost every time but should my support start flame me because of rusty start or should we both try to make something good asap?

Anyways, we won, i did great after i got my items, Lucian was shut down and he was useless in TF's - in short - it was bad early but totally fine mid game. It happens, we didn't feed so it was ok.

At post match screen i was surprised, a bit, miss Sona wrote '' sorry for earlier Sivir ''.

I honored her of course and reply '' it is ok np, wp '' ( because it wasn't only me who did good, Sona helped me to achieve it ), wanted to further praise her but had no time. This is what i love, players who know when they were wrong and can admit their mistakes because i am aware of my mistakes and shitty plays, i do not need you to remind me and point a finger.

I was wrong too, in a way. When i muted her, instead, i could simply explain what mistakes i did and why but... In game it would be waste of time and could lead to flame.

There are toxic people at EVERY role and playing EVERY champ. This is just a bad take.

Vincent Lucius11/23/2015, 4:34:44 PM1 votes

I've seen toxicity in all lanes in all roles with most champs. Except Rammus players, they're pretty ok...

Okay, wished for my death yet? Good, I'm still kicking. Hatred makes me stronger. Pretty much every role can have a douche behind the keyboard. Supports, Top laners, jungle, ADCs, mid laners, all of them are likely to bring you a dick like a cat that can't get the message that you don't want the dad bird, but you can also find nice people and even mentors in these roles... you're just more likely to find the bird.

Aspynn11/23/2015, 6:51:22 PM1 votes

I feel like generally the toxic supports are not actually support mains, but just like salty midlaners that didn't get their lane. Generally they play blitzcrank or thresh and are absolute cocks to their team. You can generally tell when somebody is a support main, and for the most part support players are pretty nice and helpful, but it's too bad you have such bad luck. :/

IcyPepper11/23/2015, 7:08:16 PM1 votes

Both can be jerks, and both can be nice.

Personally, I like giving credit where it's due. I want my ADC to be warding, and I'll ward as the ADC. I like to roam as a support, and I expect the ADC to be independent at a certain point.

Both roles are play by humans (hopefully!), and thus are both subject to the occasional asshole. Both can be nice too, however.

Supports can be toxic aswell. To be fair, it's more likely they become toxic, since they have to deal with a lot of frustration whenever their ADC lacks important mechanics (like positioning or kiting). I'm not saying they're right, I'm just saying that I understand them.

Akenero11/23/2015, 3:16:02 AM1 votes

Im one of those supports

If you play like malphite's left nostril

BALDG1VEN BOOMER11/23/2015, 3:23:51 AM1 votes

Should play with me bby<3

I never critique.

Squidkidd11/23/2015, 4:45:29 AM1 votes

Support main here, I'm generally nice, but I'm more demanding than anything. If I don't see you warding I'll tell you to ward, ect. I've encountered toxic supports when I ADC however, and it's not nice.

Spacesuit Spiff11/23/2015, 5:56:05 AM1 votes

The adc doesnt have much to do in lane aside from last-hit and follow engages. The support is the one thats doing things to win lane (sure a really good/terrible adc can influence what happens but thats a minority). So the support doesnt complain much because theres not a lot to complain about if youre doing the basics. That dynamic also tends to mean adcs will do a hell of a lot of whining about a whole ton of things.

Nowadays i experience the same as you but thats because im 45000000x better at support than adc. Maybe thats whats going on?

Cipse11/23/2015, 7:42:44 AM1 votes

I personally don't get many toxic support or adc players. To me, it seems like top and mid are more toxic (could be a server difference).
