How was this a better title for Mordekaiser than "Lord of Death"? The only problem with "Lord of Death" is that it sort of sounds generic. It goes well with his kit, lore, VO, and visuals. "Master of Metal" on the other hand really only went with his model and some wordplay. At some point his W use to be more metallic, but not any more.
I mean, how is he the Master of Metal any more than Nautalis?

I know all the references that are in his kit, but all things considered, outside of the names, nothing fits to him being a "master of metal". That would be a title that would fit better on a magnetic champion, not an actual lord of death (which he has been I the lore the entire time, often speculate that he might be the one that started everything on the Shadow Isles)

I understand that to Morde players the metal title had significance, but when you actually think about it, from a story perspective, nothing about him says "metal" other then him wearing a big suit of armor, which would then put Garen, Jarvan, and Darius in there

Why now? He just got a substantial rework, his title didn't really fit him, and looking at Champion Title's is something Riot has recently started thinking about.

So...his entire visual appearance is metal and all of his abilities are direct references to metal music. I'm aware this seems like a tenuous connection to Master of Metal, but it's something players have identified with since his release.
I see no reason whatsoever why Riot needs to change this particular piece of Mordekaiser in order to make him a compelling champion, and I think that's where a lot of the confusion over this change comes from.

If you look at other champions, the title sets the tone rather well:
The Swift Scout: Likes to hit and run, vision is important, rather fast. Overall, a good match for Teemo. The Undead Juggernaut: Hard to kill, causes a fair amount of damage, hard to stop when they get going, some effect on death (theirs or others). Rather fitting for SIon. The Frost Archer: Clearly Ashe is a good match for this. The Master of Metal: Juggernautish, lot's of metal, and makes metal do his bidding. Now Mordekaiser does the first two well (so do other champions such as Nautilus), but he lacks the 3rd part that he desperately needs to be the Master of Metal.
71389310_DEL2 votesVoted other; he should have been kept as the "Master of Metal" and not changed at all. At this point he is just "Riot's experiment" and he seems more like he is about to be captured by Death rather than lord over it.
