Summoner Spell upcoming changes (Cleanse)
Sorry, I am a noob and do not have a PBE account, so I cannot log in there. It actually took me a minute to realize my login didn't work on the PBE forums -- I thought I was just mistyping my password over and over!
Back on-topic -- What if cleanse could be used proactively? Currently, cleanse removes all effects on you, then reduces the duration of new effects. What if a player could cast it when they had no applicable debuffs on themselves, then its behavior would change to a banshee's shield-like ability that would negate the next disable (stun/knockup/fear) that would hit the character, and retain the "reduce duration" ability for everything else?
This would open up an entire new world for cleanse. It would gain offensive ability (Nunu and Galio, for example, could more reliably use their ults), a jungler chasing an ADC could anticipate a knockback or something and negate it. Also, defensively, it would be hugely improved for the same reasons. You could prevent that split-second interruption from ever happening, at least once if you timed it right.
Just a thought.
To sum up:
New Cleanse:
If the champion is currently disabled (stunned, feared, knocked in the air), then behave exactly like it does currently. If the champion is not currently disabled, apply a shield for (1? 2?) seconds that will prevent the next disable from affecting the champion. For the next 6 seconds, reduce the duration of future debuffs as it currently does.
disclaimer -- I am pretty bad at this game still -- I just started playing a month or two ago
