I never saw the point and probably never will but

It has always confused me since I started playing lol as to why people would insult players on their own team. I see it happen countless times and each time that team loses. Every time I sit and wonder why people do it and why they never learn that it doesn't help. If someone could explain the thought process I would love to know why people insult their own team.
