Gameplay Recording

I thought I remembered seeing something not long ago about a built in way to save your games as if being viewed from spectator mode. I don't know if this was a dream or something. Is there something built in to the client like this, or do we still have to use a third party program?

Otherwise, does anyone have any suggestions for what would be good to use? I would also like to be able to record bot games, not just PVP, if possible. Is there any programs that will do that too or is it best to just go with a general screen cap software? If you could give me a few options with pros and cons, that would be great.

Thanks

Replay.gg is the site I've recommended (although it's been a while since I last used it). Basically you verify that you own your account by renaming a rune page and that's it! Nothing to download. They'll have their computer spectate your game, then when you want to watch it you paste a command line argument in that tells League to open the Spectator Client but pointed at Replay.gg replay instead of Riot's normal live game server.

Replays can't be used after the patch, but during the same patch you're fine.
