How do you leave champion select without getting a penalty?

Sometimes it's very clear there's a couple of 'personalities' in champion select giving you the cue to get out before committing 20-60 minutes to a bad time. Once champion select cancelled 3 times getting the same people every time, and it didn't stop till a certain someone got the lane they wanted, a chef no doubt.

So it seems really odd to be punished when you're put in groups you know you're going to have a bad time with and want to leave :T

Well, people often act like trolls in champion select so you dodge for them, and they're just bluffing so they don't get the dodge penalty themselves. Or they may be just yanking your chain and are having fun but will actually play the game normally.

There is no dodging without a penalty. What was probably happening is someone else gave the troll what he wanted and dodged for him. Don't reward them with that if you can help it.
