BIG FAT WINDOWS 10 WARNING (or rather advice)

If you do not want Windows 10 to be pushed by automatic upgrade (which is actually happening tomorrow July 29), you need to go into your control panels and switch automatic upgrade to "check for updates but let me chose whether to download and install them".

This is no scam, if you have automatic updates enabled, windows 10 will automatically download and install, starting tomorrow July 29, 2015

Now dont get me wrong, Windows 10 is good, its not like Windows 8.0 I personally like to wait a couple of months after public release though.

edit: control panel > windows update > change settings > under "important updates" switch to "check for updates but let me chose whether to download and install them".

Thanks. This is actually the first I've hard about it... I need to move under a rock located closer to civilization.

But I think I'll just install it anyway. I realize there can, and WILL be problems, but honestly, fuck Windows 8. I'll be glad to watch it go. From what I've seen/heard (recent research, as I've just learned about it) it's superior to Windows 8 by far.

You know, one time Windows 8 attempted to install an update automatically (after I had made a point to turn auto updates off) and it crashed my computer. Like...Turn it on, blue screen type crash. That was great, took me a while to fix. And by fix I mean completely reset my computer. I'm fairly sure all the old info is still on the hard drive, but fuck that, that'll take work to uncover.

Well anyway, SOMEONE has to test it out, might as well be me.

This is not true. It will download and "install" the installer if you have automatic upgrades turned on, but it will not automatically upgrade you.

Also since windows 10 will no longer have Internet explorer which league uses for it's security or something like that I wonder if league will even be compatible with the new OS.

I don't think I have anything to worry about, 15KB/s + cracked Windows. So yeah, let the update come. It will download until HL3 is launched.
