Flex Queue gameplay is so much worse than solo/duo

After having not even tried flex I've decided to give it a try, knowing riot claimed some sort of a gift for those who finish gold for both of them. However, after 6 of 10 games played I've noticed one thing. The people who play with friends are clueless. More than half of these 6 games have seen bot lane with some sort of 5/20 variation. It's appalling to see how much worse the overall game play is here than in solo/duo. Is it mainly because most are in parties that the MMR is just so out of whack they have to pull from all areas of the dark just to find these people?

  1. the matchmaking here is totally random, im plat4 at solo duo, gold5 at flex, one game i ve got matchmaked vs 1 dia 3 and 1 dia4 who had 1 silver and 2 golds in their team, other games i ve got to play vs bronze 4 xD
  2. people dont really care about flex that much since we got solo/duo to tryhard and climb, for me this q its pretty much normal draft

Honestly, I found teammates in Flex Queue far more competent than Solo Queue teammates. I felt like I was being challenged with Flex Queue, pushed right to the limit of my abilities, but I feel like I'm becoming a worse player the more Solo Queue I play.

Worth pointing out I was placed in Gold 3 in Flex, placed Silver 5 in Solo playing solo in both. I climbed to Gold 1 Flex before trying to get Solo Queue to Gold 5 for the rewards. I'm Silver 3 Solo Queue, but it's just not as fun or rewarding to me.
