Bronze and Silver often have people who swear by the meta, people who will intentionally feed before they AFK because you went something that hasn't been played recently in the LCS.

A lot of the times the reasons that these people stay in bronze/silver despite the meta-worship is that they play the meta awful and don't know how to CS.

I never ran into trolls or ragequitters with any frequency until I hit Platinum.

While most of the players are still nice, the bad ones seem far more entitled (though they are usually atleast half-way competent, which can help make up for it).

More like Silver. It's the nature of border regions. The fear of falling in Bronze haunts silver players, much like the idea of falling into Gold haunts Platinum players. It's basically like people live in a permanent exam environement. There's a huge ammount of competition and ego. By comparison, most of the III's tend to be chill because they don't have this kind of insecurity.

I think Platinum is arguably the worst tier simply because of the toxicity there. Many Platinum players believe that because they are right below Diamond that they know everything and have mastered everything despite most of them not. So Plat tends to have some of the most toxic people. They won't say something like "gg this yi sucks", they'll just lecture you the entire game about how you made one minor mistake.

You're either going to run into a toxic, self entitled Plat player or you're going to meet a really nice person.

I'm trying to prevent my teams from losing games 5 minutes in, let alone actually advancing in ranks.

Honestly, I were in the same spot last season. Start in Silver 1. Except this time the snowball is so freaking bad I have like 40% winrate after ~50 games.

For reference, after 50 games in the last season I was back in Platinum.

Plat V was the worst experience I tried to live through last season. Currently still working my way back up, but the quality of the teammates I got were exponentially worse when compared to when I was climbing this, and last, season through gold. Everyone thinks they should be the one to carry and blame everyone else for everything and give up the SECOND they go 0/1.

Oh lord. Plat is the most toxic elo by far. No one prances around their borders more than these jerk offs. If you think im joking, something like 40% of the people on my block list are either Plat V or Plat 1. Dont let them taint you Metal. :s
