I just got a champion shard from a chest... BUT I OWN ALL CHAMPS

only thing you can do right now is get at least 3, re-roll them once a new champ comes out and hope you get it.

the thing is, if you have all champs and all runes guess what happens to all the ip that you rake up by playing games? nothing. for the last two years i got every new champ outright at 7300ip because i always have an excess of ip lying around unused. it would be easy to code the boxes so that they dont give you championshards when you own all champs. i mean yes, i can convert that thing into essence i guess, but i'll never use it for anything else.. i guess i shouldnt complain because its all free stuff, but i felt it was odd. thats all!

ya, it could be better, but at least its free skins like you said. the free champs add on to the hextech isn't great, but it is there.

It's intended for you to be able to get champion shards even if you own all the champions. Riot has already stated that they are working on a solution for this, something else that you can use champion shards/blue essence for.
