League of Legends is still the most popular game in the world

I'm pretty sure if it wasn't fun than people would stop playing. Like I understand that you don't like some specific ideas. There are about 130 champions in league and we complain mostly about like what, 10? If that? That means that over 120 other champions are fun balanced and people enjoy playing or playing against. 27 Million people play league. I think that more than a couple thousand people would be complaining if something was so wrong that it made the game unplayable. I will repeat that stat. #27 Million People That is almost 3 times as many people that live in New York. This game is fun and don't you deny it. People play it for a reason. Because it is fun, interesting, and addictive. There are way to many hate threads on these boards. Can't we show Riot some respect? They made an amazing game for us. Maybe if we didn't bitch and moan every time they changed something they might actually listen to us.

Thanks for listening, Spammer out.

Too be fair, that's also why people do drugs.

So your argument is that because a lot of people still play the game we shouldn't reach out to the company on their own boards when we don't like the direction the game is taking?

I really don't see the point of this post at all.

I'd say about 10 champions are op, 75 are at different stages of viability and the rest are unplayable (If you care about winning).

Yea, people sometimes forget that League has far and away the fairest free-to-play model in the business. No pay-to-win gimmicks, no oppressive progression system (by free2play standards), high quality premium content you genuinely want to spend money on, (i'm probably going to get shit for saying this) they do a pretty good job of keeping 90% of the roster well balanced and at least acknowledge power creep and make efforts to combat it, where many other game companies ignore it or outright abuse it to generate profits at the cost of game integrity.

I'm okay with most of what Riot's done.

What I'm not okay with is them completely changing the way SR plays in a way that makes objectives less important. Its so easy to get towers now that they aren't really all that meaningful anymore.

Dragon doesn't really matter much anymore.

Baron isn't as important as its been in the past. If you win a teamfights, you can usually just take out an inhibitor or their nexus instead of taking Baron. Because of that, its a throw option more than ever now.

no, because its addictive, league stopped being fun a while ago, but we dont want to play anything else because maybe next game will be fun like the old days, and we keep telling ourselves that

You're missing a really important element of this. Popularity does not equal quality.

COD made some pretty cool games, therefore, they became popular, then they ran their brand into the depths of hell. Popularity continued not because of the quality, but because it was a familiar game that everyone's friends were playing.

WOW was an ingenious MMORPG that was superior in quality than the few other games that were even in the same genre at the time. So WOW became popular. WOW then released several soulless expansions, even going as far as to let players skip the entire game just to get to the end. WOW remained popular because people had invested thousands of hours and had become addicted. It is on it's way out now though.

League's quality cannot be determined by its popularity, as oftentimes popularity leads to companies believing they can do whatever they want and retain their playerbase. League will most likely fall into the same trap. It was made as a quality alternative to dota, and did a darn good job and was a heck of a lot of fun. So they became popular. Now everyone has invested thousands of hours and have all their friends playing the game, but honestly, the game is not nearly as fun as it once was. Riot has also gone the way of believing they can make any changes they desire and retain their playerbase.

Really the only question is how long league will remain a quality game, because its popularity will continue long after it loses its soul and becomes crap.

The game is great but the way Riot is changing it has significantly dropped my interest. Before the pre-season I loved the game for how it revolved around strategy and outsmarting your opponent. Now the game is basically won by team who got first blood. Riot also made the LCS very boring to watch, even the analysts make comments about how boring League is for most matches. Teams simply play defensively the entire game because one kill is all it takes to snowball out of control and win the game.

What are you comparing league to? It's nowhere near as popular as GTA or call of duty..?

Hell even runescape and WOW are more notable than league

It's not 27 million people playing, they are counting accounts. most people have 2 to 10 accounts on average so the real number isn't even close to 27 minion. If they go people's ip, ip changes all the time if they aren't static.. so either way 27 million is not accurate.
