This just makes you look childish. Really? You think there's no one, not a single person at Riot working on ways to fix the ping on the East Coast? Riot's already mentioned that the server maintanance earlier this month was part of the project to reduce ping on the East Coast.

They could, but why would they?

Riot isn't going to want their art team to leave, so they're going to need to keep paying them. And if Riot is paying them, they're going to want them to work. And if they're going to work, it might as well be on something productive.

Honestly, this suggestion makes less sense than suggesting that you move to the West Coast.

Okay, so you don't care about skins because you're having ping issues. Sure, makes sense.

But what does Riot's skin team have to do with your ping? What good would cutting their workload do?

I mean, it wouldn't free them up to work on something that they're not qualified to work on, so that can't be it. It won't free up funds, because they're already getting paid (and likely paid a salary, so it's a fixed amount regardless of the actual hours worked), so that can't be it.

So what do the two have to do with each other?

And understand, I'm fully sympathetic with your concerns about ping. I just have never understood why so many people want to make this whole "stop making skins" argument, because it doesn't make sense.
