This is probably one of the most annoying things about the new Q. I have dodged a ranked game by accident at least 5 times and lost lp for it because I expect my game to pop up when it is my time to ban. I don't know if this bothers anyone else but it is bugging the heck out of me. Just my 2 cents thanks.
Works for me, but you should just pay attention anyway. Not that hard.

The client does pop up. If it doesn't for you, it's not RIOTS problem. Your computer is probably bugged or you need to repair your LoL client.
Don't bitch at RIOT because you can't take 2 minutes out of your day to pay attention to your client man. It's not hard man. Real simple concept.
The client window will become silent if you minimize it, as it is then counted as an inactive application. This can ofc. be countered (if it couldn't, every music/video player would be a waste), but it requires some coding.
But until then, don't queue up for ranked if you don't have the patience to stare at the champion ban/select and wait till it's your turn.

It's a skill that should determne your rank obviously.
I don't get the pop up but I do get the audio prompt so I guess it's not too bad. That said if it could be more consistent in its behaviour I'm not complaining.

er,well, I play in windowed mode
oh. but don't minimize when the game goes to loading screen. this bugs out the client and it creates a second client and then you have to restart everything like opening task manager and sh*t...
All i can say is that you should stop being afk when its time to select a champion or ban a champion.
