  1. Pick Veigar, 30 in AP runes
  2. Go mid, start Doran's Ring
  3. Farm Q like your life depends on it (it actually does)
  4. Hope your opponent doesn't realize that they have to stop you from farming Q like their life depends on it (Because it does)
  5. If required, send some AA's and a Q or two after your opponent
  6. They think you don't have much damage
  7. Farm AP with Q until you have either 1420 or 2635 Gold, then buy either most of Morellonomicon or all of it + boots respectively
  8. Go back to lane, farm a bit more
  9. Get jungler to gank for extra secured kill
  10. Stun enemy, plop full QWER combo
  11. Killed them -> Hooray now you can kill them every time they show up and you have your ult (Unless they buy a health/MR item, then reevaluate) 11.5) Didn't kill them -> Rats, hopefully your jungler got it.
  12. Regardless, keep farming because Morellonomicon will never let you run out of mana for Q
  13. Proceed to ruin the life of anybody who comes within 700 units of you
  14. Buy Deathcap, and Voidstaff
  15. Buy a second Morellonomicon.
  16. 40% CDR, hell yes, ult timer is about 54 seconds
  17. Farm because mana is infinite
  18. 1 shot AP and AD carries because you can
  19. 100 - 0 the tank with a combo just to let them know that their health and MR is meaningless
  20. Sell Doran's Ring, buy Zhonya's, never die (Unless you miss your stun, get hit by CC, drop your stun on the wrong person, they buy tenacity, QSS, etc)
  21. KILL EVERYTHING (Except for Garen and Irelia, those fuckers don't die)
  22. Then when your team says "Noob Veigar y u no has DFG?" proceed to last hit every possible kill of theirs to demonstrate the answer
  23. Feast on the tears of your enemies

ALTERNATIVE

  1. Pick Veigar, 30 in AP runes
  2. Go mid, start Doran's Ring
  3. Farm Q like your life depends on it (it actually does)

  5. They don't let you farm
  6. Get fucked
  7. Continue to get fucked
  8. Proceed to have the worst KDA on your team
  9. Kill the occasional carry / last hit champions
  10. Try to farm again
  11. Fail, then proceed to suck eggs all game long
  12. Cry

Veigar is the only champ I enjoy facing fizz with. Just avoid / don't let him use the troll pole and you've got an easy lane usually.

He's very balanced, and very fun to play. Some people just don't use their heads when they face him, and then he gets fed and they cry that he's OP.

I don't really see how. You can't stun him as effectively cause he can just blink to you and his combo is one of the fastest plus if it's post-6 he'll be invisible aka untargettable.

I don't play either champs so I'm not sure if that's right though.

At that point you change plans with veigar and harrass with Q. I play him this way sometimes and it is effective with assassins like Talon, for example.

Q is costy and does not deal very ,much at 1, but at rank 2-3 can deal a good chunk of damage and is unavoidable.

Stun him from a bush or his blind spot, and his ulti doesn't make him untargetable just invisible. You can still stun and kill him when he ults, just poke him til he's low, then he ults and you plop a stun down immediately and guess if he's going after you or running away, and then you fire W off in his predicted path and BOOM. He's dead.

You can also hit your Q and R buttons hella fast and the abilities will still hit him if he ults, so long as he was visible when you pressed the buttons. The bushes are your friend.

Hm? Veigar is one of the few champions that actually performs extremely well from behind. His ult punishes his lane opponent for winning lane and his E may as well be a second ult.. its just that good.

I do really well damn near every game as veigar. All you need to do is get a chalice with some mana regen runes, then rush hat. He does so much damage that almost any enemy you face mid will get 3shot + very early on. I beat fizz with ease with him too.

I prefer Tear of the Goddess. It synergizes with his passive and the Seraph's Embrace is a damn good item lategame with constantly increasing AP and MP with a shield. I like grabbing one after I finish Zhonyas or Deathfire. If you have a passive lane, you can do it earlier.

While it's true that Seraph's gives the most AP next to Rabadon's I tend to use the playstyle of "nuke first, ask questions later" meaning that I never get in a situation where I have to USE the shield. The mana pool is nice too, but the regen is lacking and Morellonomicon gives decent AP, great mana regeneration, and amazing 20% CDR. Not to mention the grievous wounds passive (which is helpful sometimes). I can also take the lesser AP amount from Morello (80) compared to Seraph's (~120) because the mana regen and CDR lets me farm AP forever.

To each their own, I'm just glad other Veigar players exist. It gets lonely.

Veigar is still a little useful when he's behind with his 2.5 second stun and if there is anyone who built AP on their team he can deal a chunk of damage to them. Veigar is fun to play and your opponent has to be smart to win against him.

I have main Veigar forever and used him since I started playing the game. Farming Q is not heavily essential. As a matter of fact I only have 1 skill point in Q for quite a while and max W instead because it's damage burst is much higher. Even if you are behind he's still not bad because his large area stun will always be useful in end game team fights

The other day I played against another Veigar while I myself was Veigar in a game. Our toplane fed the enemy toplane and jungler to about 4 and 5 kills respectively. Our botlane was beginning to fall behind too. Me and the enemy Veigar were in a fierce battle in midlane, occasionally interrupted by the enemy jungler but I was still holding my own. I farmed every Q I had on minions, he hardly farmed with Q at all. By the time midgame rolled around my team was at a clear disadvantage, and yet I managed to turn almost every teamfight into our favor with my abilities. The enemy Veigar had more kills because his team was much more organized and useful, but I shut him and his team down every time we met on the battlefield. With my extra AP from Q I was able to nuke every single person on their team, and they couldn't touch me. Farming Q IS essential.

I start with a point in Q, then E, then W, then one more in Q, then I level E until rank 4/5 and start ranking W, I end with maxing Q. I max R when it comes up. Two points in Q lets me secure much more farm more safely, so while I'm losing some 50 base damage on W, the AP from the bonus farm I get with an improved Q more than makes up for it. Every standard minion you kill with Q grants Veigar ~3 damage to his combo, more with Deathcap. So if I can farm 17 extra minions between levels 4 and 12 or 13 I will have more net damage than that extra early rank of W would ever provide. Not to mention it adds to my Arcane Blade mastery as well. Needless to say I farm far more than just 17 extra minions with that Q rank.

With DFG farming Q wasn't as relevant, however with DFG being removed Q will now be extremely essential to making him more viable.

I disagree that it wasn't relevant before, but to each their own. More AP is always good on Veigar imo.
