Oh a Rioter...

I'd just like to say one thing

From what I've heard is that working at Riot is a very difficult task where most work long hours and having to deal with crap like the community, few not even being able to pay for an apartment in downtown Santa Monica, and also having to deal with company holdups which result in a lot of delays.

Although I've never spent a dime on League, but I've been able to occupy myself for about 1 year and probably 500+ hours on League (playing,research, and watching Esports) and get myself out of hard times.

I'd also like to thank you specifically KateyKhaos for having to probably do a bottom-of-the-barrel job (not trying to offend you its, just that its probably morale destroying everytime you see a "Riot u suk" forum) having to search through the Boards trying to find something that is in the least bit helpful.

Thank you for actually being one of the few Rioters that responds to these types of forums. We appreciate at least believing that we're being listened to...

Although my forums about pointless things like Wit's End, Magma Chamber, and making ADC Kennen viable, etc. Its nice to know that people are at least looking.

You're right that there's a lot of work that comes with the job, and the long hours are usually because we're excited about what we're working on, and time flies!

The boards are actually something I really enjoy - and it's more of a labor of love than anything else. Sure, there are some negative posts, but the positive interactions definitely outweigh the negative. :]

Hi Katey! I have a question about who at Riot I should contact about an initiative, any chance you could point me in the right direction? I've made a few posts on here and on Reddit about a Mentoring system, but they seem to get buried without seeing some real discussion or consideration. Any chance you know any Rioters who would be interested in chatting about the idea sometime? Wow really? So Rioters on higher positions are swimming in dollars, meanwhile others can't even afford an apartment? I thought it's such a great company...

Expenses of living in downtown Santa Monica is about 41,000 per year.

Average* salary for Artist is about 55,000

Now say if you don't have a salary, you are probably forced to live in an Apartment with other Rioters

Most of the Money goes Tenecent anyways which is in China

I'm not sure if it's been considered (I've only been at Riot when Championship Shyvana was in production), but it's certainly not off the table for future skins.

I was a little depressed when I didn't get the icon. I hadn't said or done anything to get reported. Especially since February. I helped out in the event, but only was able to win 2 or 3 times. Its okay though. I can't wait for the Mystery Champ.

Sorry to say but if you don't get the icon you won't get the champion either. Only thing you can really get are the discounts and ip boosts from last weekend.

What.... But, I've really been wanting this. I signed on with Facebook, been friendly, and never said... I remember now. There was one game a person was being really ugly. When I called him out for saying curse words at me and a few others, he reports me for using foul language (which I had not) and put me on a suspension. :'(

Yea I dont think this is said enough. From trying to balance over 100+ champs in response to eachother, to pumping out new content regularly for a free to play game. They really do a lot. They arent perfect, but they do a great job.

Awesome, thank you for saying so and thank you for playing League! There's actually a lot of Rioters that read the forums but don't post. The lurkers are out there, reading more than you might suspect and we all get excited when someone has something encouraging to say.

We understand that the reason people post on the forums is because they are SUPER passionate about the game. No matter what gets said if players didn't love LoL they just wouldn't even bother. It is frustrating for me sometimes because a lot of posts I read I agree with as a player, or have no insights to add, or can't comment on because no official announcement has yet been made and I have to just sit there and think 'I feel the same, but I can't post anything that will be more than just frustrating'.

That's the problem - they're lurkers, not posters. One of the reasons they hate coming here is that it's a hostile place. Maybe they should spend less time on Reddit with the mindless esports drones and more time talking to real players on the forums they forced us to adapt to and then seemed to abandon.

The thought of Rioters coming back to the forums are just empty words now for how many times we've seen this claim. It hasn't happened yet, and when it does, it's grossly short-lived before the "rare" Red name goes into hiding again...or back to Reddit with non-player spectators pretending they play.

Well I'll point out that it's not an obligation, and most people don't have time during work hours then have family/other commitments outside of work. I try to comment as often as possible but that ends up being ~1 hour every few nights. Also I try not to post unless I have something useful to say and make the commitment to answer any follow up questions so it doesn't just seem like I drop a comment and disappear. Sometimes I see something I want to comment on but if I'm really busy and know I don't have the time for any following conversation then I won't.

I don't think the few negative people on the boards really put Rioters off, it's just that it's a time commitment that not everyone can or chooses to make. I think there are more Q&A's being scheduled (including a Tahm Kench one I'll be around for on Wednesday 11-1pm PST) which helps but even then it sucks if you can't make it. KateyKhaos puts in a huge amount of her personal time to be active on the boards, I know because when I get in in the morning and when I leave at night she is usually at it - often my first act of the day is to grab some broccoli to munch on and ask KateyKhaos how the boards are doing today. I guess another thing is that not everyone is confident in their ability to communicate clearly. When you are posting with a red name you know people will analyse your every word and, though we speak as individuals, Riot's reputation is in our hands. They will even take screenshots and bring them out 5 years later and ask you why you haven't done what you said you would. For example I got rightly slammed for comments I made about Pool Party Ahri, and that kind of blunder might deter a lot of people from repeat posting. But not because they are scared of making a mistake, it's because they don't want to disappoint players.

its funny cus all my other support tickets were responded to the day after I sent out the ticket and that you also have no idea what you're talking about. I AM SALTY AS HECK also riot has always responded fast to every ones support tickets, mine, my friends, all of them. Until recently where riot is doing things we don't want. Like it all started when they changed Cass now they barely listen to us.
