Rioter 1: "I have this change I'd like you to implement." Rioter 2: "Alright. That seems kind of extreme though. What would the players think about it?" Rioter 1: "Well, based on our statistics, they would love it." Rioter 2: "Don't you think we should ask th-" Rioter 1: "No of course not." Rioter 2: "Well ok."

Some time later

Rioter 2 (to Community): "Hey guys! We've implemented this new change. Let us know what you think!" Community: "THIS SUCKS FOR A HOST OF REASONS. REVERT IT." Rioter 2 (to Rioter 1): "Well, the people on the forums/boards really hate this change. Should we revert it?" Rioter 1: "Nah, based on our statistics, most people like this change. They're a vocal minority. Just go on there and post about how we're going to listen to them more, and use the word 'soon' several times." Rioter 2: "So the usual then? Alright."

So they make changes based off of sound development principles rather than mob mentality and design-by-committee? Thank goodness. That must be why the game is successful.
