Maybe there are some who say it jokingly (like when the losing team says it after a defeat) but most people say it just to make their opponent feel bad. This is a video game (which people playing to relax and have fun with, something people in this community seem to have forgotten) and people shouldn't have to be subjected to some unnecessary bullshit.

Imagine if you just came after shitty day filled with work, tragic news, etc and some guy has to make it even worse by making you feel pathetic. There are some people who could take it, but not everyone can.

Most of the time it doesn't bother me but now I'm doing it so maybe some other person won't have to deal with this shit. I mean, thats what reporting is for, right? I myself am probably never going to see the guy who said "gg ez" again, but I can guarantee someone else will.

People that go out of their way to make a complete stranger feel like shit for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON at all should be reported.

As much as I agree with your message, your last sentence goes against it. Saying "gg ez" or some variation of it is undoubtedly rude and will earn you a guaranteed report.

That said, you could just say that. No need to stoop to the level of the ones saying it by using unnecessary curses. It just makes you look bad and it takes away from your original message. You end up looking just as rude as the people saying "gg ez."

The new tribunal system doesn't take into account post game chats, making your reports baseless and diminishing their value each time. :v

A report still has a minimum value, and Riot expects 1 report every 3 games. I haven't been GGEZ'd in the last 10 games. I immediately report for that shit too.

New tribunal doesn't take ANY chat into account. It's all the number and weight of reports. Once you reach a thresh-hold you get timed out. Enough times, and you get banned. Perma bans are the only thing that a real person looks at.

I understand that, however most of the times I see people say "gg ez" it's right as the Nexus is exploding during the actual game. Regardless of whether the Tribunal system is being monitored by humans or by machine, the post-game screen has never been part of the review process, seeing as how the Launcher and the game itself are different programs. I know that it will not be seen, so reporting a player for things said in that point is mostly meaningless, though in particularly bad cases, I will copy/paste their text and put it in the report. I vaguely remember reading that if a played is reported enough times, their case will go before a human for final judgement, so on the off-chance that happens if's worth noting what they say during post-game.

Ah, yes... I should have won the 4v5 where my team's ADC had to leave at the 18-ish minute because "Guys, I just found out that my brother was in a car accident. I'm sorry, but I've got to go."

We had been ahead all game, but the lack of sustained damage and the extra person in teamfights set us back quite a bit. We were doing well, but their Udyr kept split-pushing and if we sent a person back to deal with him, we lost ground other places. The game went on for about 50 minutes, but we eventually lost a teamfight and didn't respawn in time to save the Nexus. As the final tower and Nexus fell, the Udyr spammed "gg ez".

Don't get me wrong, I've won quite a few 4v5s. Even won a 3v5 once. That was a rough game. But the fact that this Udyr had the nerve to say a game where we held out for so long without a member of the team was "ez" crossed a line. Even one of his own teammates called him out on it post-game. Saying "gg ez" crosses a line, and even though the Udyr had been saying a lot of other rude things during the game, the "gg ez" was what hit the hardest.

I'm not saying that it really bothered me, because it didn't, but of all the insults and flame the enemy team was hurling at mine in that particular game that was the one that seemed the most rude. Unfortunately, I've been called a lot of rude things -both online and to my face- and at this point, I really don't give a flying ficus what some random stranger on the internet says. I just used it as an example, since it fit with this thread's major topic. Also, there are just some games you just cannot win. Your team can go 15/0, but if someone has to AFK or gets DCd, the game becomes much more difficult.

Umm this is only a career for about 60 people, the rest of us are just a bunch of clowns hanging around the play ground waiting for a game of pick up to get started. And in THAT game, trash talk is rampant and part of the culture. And if you try to call the cops cause ur feelings got hurt down at the court then the cops will probably be the ones beating yo punk ass.

Actually, there is an underlying responsibility of kindness and decency amongst players in League of Legends; this is set forth in the Summoners Code. Those who violate the code and who are malicious to other players, are reported. This is one of the reasons as to why the tribunal was created—to protect players from gratuitous behavior and verbal abuse.

You claim to know how others treat each other in professional sports by referencing a couple of YouTube videos, which are edited and glamorized for your viewing pleasure; you did not cite any real sources. Also, in the Richard Sherman video, he was responding to Tom Brady because of comments Brady had made earlier on. This means they were in an argument and he was not purposefully talking trash just for the sport of it. Now, the NHL certainly has its fair share of trash talking, but not all sports are created equal. Insinuating that because of what is true for one sport, must be true for League of Legends, just highlights your general ignorance and inability to evaluate things in a rational way.

Trash talk is also forbidden in the LCS as stated in their rulebook:

"A Team Member may not use language that is obscene, foul, vulgar, insulting, threatening, abusive, libelous, slanderous, defamatory or otherwise offensive or objectionable; or promote or incite hatred or discriminatory conduct, in or near the match area, at any time. A Team Member may not use any facilities, services or equipment provided or made available by LCS or its contractors to post, transmit, disseminate or otherwise make available any such prohibited communications. A Team Member may not use this type of language on social media or during any public facing events such as streaming."

So not only is trash talking unacceptable in solo que, it is also unacceptable in the LCS. I would encourage you to look into these important issues more carefully, rather than just haphazardly spewing nonsense which totally discredits you as a reliable or accurate source of information.

So are you saying that when professional athletes IRL trash talk during their respective professional games that they get immediately fired and "lose their careers"? Because that is what I was responding to with my you tube videos. If that's what you're saying then we can't continue this debate due to your inability for rational thought. If that's not what you're saying then you're responding to a point that I did not make. Congratulations on wasting a wall of text talking about the rules of the LCS , while all I did was refute blacknerdtaku's point that IRL trash talking results in career loss for professional athletes. I can only deduce that his overall theme was that because IRL trash talk results in punishment for professional athletes that LOL trash talk is justifiably punishable. Finally, I find someone with common sense on those goddamn forums...

I tried to tell people since forever, that the chat should not affect them in any way and i also tried to explain that it couldn't.

But it's like trying to explain to little children that eating candy is bad for their health .

And i don't say that to be able to trash talk or anything, I'm saying that because I don't get affected by it, and people telling me that it can cause emotional stress seem that they fake it to be able to report people and get in a position of power .

Glad to know I am not the only one that gets annoyed by this. Feared of saying anything about it as I thought I'd get called a crybaby or something. I generally say "GG" after every game whether we win or lose.

I'm sure if you said "gg ez" to the same person that said it in a different game where they won, they'd go off on you or call another team member useless or something. They'd NEVER be the issue!

I recently had about 3 people on the other team who every time they killed me spammed "lololol" and I asked them to play the game, learn sportsmanship, and not brag but they continued. Those some people decided to say "gg ez" at the end of the game. Needless to say they were reporting. I honestly really think the "lololol" guys are worse than the "gg ez" people though.

I totally agree that it is rude, but they (the players who do that) don't give a @#$% that you are posting another "say 'GG EZ' and I'll report you!" thread. If they're gonna say it, they know full well that it is supposed to make the losing team upset and that the other team will get mad at them for it. Posting another meaningless thread where a bunch of already like minded players can congregate in their agreement on this issue does nothing to actually change the minds of the people who are rude like this, they only react with "wow, what a bunch of whiners" which I hardly expect is your goal here.

Or maybe its a healthy way for people to vent about things that bother them in game without resorting to flaming, trolling, or other negative behaviors? If you have already seen many sch threads, don't open any more of them. I don't read the vast majority of threads on the forums because they hold nothing of interest for me, and some are rude/offensive/repetitive/inane/pointless/etc, above and beyond the things I simply don't care about. Your only issue with this thread is that it doesn't say anything you find new, interesting, or entertaining. Creating a space for people to complain about things without negatively impacting the experience of anyone else seems like exactly what the boards should be for.

SOMEWHAT BLOCK OF TEXT SORRY!

I remember doing a normal game when I was summoner lvl 15 and I sucked beyonddddd imagination because I was still learning + new to the game. I did a game with my friend who was silver last season and my other friend came who was also new to League. He was lvl 10.

Anyway we got paired up with someone who was lvl 16 and their last season gold buddy. The gold buddy carried so hard and apperantly that lvl 16 was a "smurf" (I didn't know what that was back then but they kept saying it). Yep we lost to those people. (Everyone else was just lvl 30 no rank or bronze maybe)

In the end I was sad that we lost and my friend told me its ok because they are more professional. Well what do you know? That gold riven says "gg ez bronzies" and the lvl 16 one said "lol ya'll so bad lol got wreckt by a lvl 16 and my buddy". I was more upset and I wanted to cry but that is because I was more sensitive and going through um issues at the time. My friend got mad and told them that we were low level newbies in the lobby and the riven just said "lmao rekt they will be bronzies someday" and the lvl 16 said "too bad they sucked anyway". My friend told me to report but I wasn't sure if that would work because that's all they said and I didn't see it as something reportable. ):

These days I just assume they are children sayin that or that their friend/relative did rank for them to get to gold like some of my poop friends. Also I look at their profile to see how many friendlies they got, usually always less than me and that makes me feel better. :)

If you say "gg" because the enemy is one drag up and 2 kills you're getting reported. The word "gg" went from a word of good sportsmanship to a toxic & annoying word.

I like how someone says GG EZ when we managed to stall the game to 50 min with a near comeback. That's when I know he's either dense as hell or just trolling in which case I hold off on reporting.

But if it's a 20 min surrender/stomp and he says it, reported.

Except saying this is uncalled for because, whether or not you are aware of it, it comes off as cocky and rude—giving you the false notion of superiority for winning a video game. GG is fine, but "l2p," is not. He doesn't need you to tell him to learn to play. He knows that himself by not performing well. The only reason someone would make this statement is for self-serving reasons—to feel better about yourself as a player.

Personally I would not report that simple comment "ezgg" or any similar 1 line remarks. But, just because It doesn't get under my skin in No way makes it okay to say.

If some one gets punished for saying that after every game I am Fine with it. All you people with your excuses to be asshats need to learn what happens on your job when you make snarky comments like that, or to the police that just pulled you over and would have let you go with a warning but then gave you a ticket instead.

But you know what ? I know exactly what you people would say ! Rotten cops (pigs) ( Riot) gave me a ticket for nothing. Everyone else was speeding so I didn't do anything wrong. Bull Shit ! I find it as annoying as the next person, but really, the report feature shouldn't be used as a "dislike" button.

Reports really should only be used for egregious behavior. Reporting for trivial things like this is why the tribunal became backlogged and why Lyte had to make a fully automated system.

Yes, it's annoying when someone does that. However, it isn't like it burns at the very fiber of your soul. You queue up for another game and forget it within 1-2 minutes.

I also hate it when people say GGEZ, because GG is a form of promoting GOOD sportsmanship, when you say EZ at the end of it it contradicts the point of having good sportsmanship to the point of being offensive, i believe Riot should help out with the people that say this because even though it doesnt seem like much, people who strugle and want to work hard to be good in the game are put down when the enemy says gg ez and you loose.
