I don't even feel like communicating anymore. Why does everyone feel so inhumane and toxic?

When I played league back in the day, MOST of the players would be chill and be fun to chat with, even if it was 1 or 2 sentences. There were always outliers, but that's kind of expected from a huge game like this. However, in the past year, most of my chat experiences have been negative.

Here's my most recent example: This game was kind of one sided at the start. Kills were being handed out for our team left and right. The enemy support comes into all chat saying "open mid". I respond with "no. play the game pls". Intermediately tells me to fuck off and kms. We ended up losing the game due to d/c issues, and their enemy team starts berating me in the post game lobby for "not taking the free win."

I know this situation is special, but I don't understand how the community became so hate filled and just abusive towards other players. It just detracts from my experience. Like I want to be friendly, but the second that shit happens, I'm put out of the game, and the rest of the match feels like work instead of having fun.

This game has gotten MUCH worse than before. At one time, if you did good, you would get people literally worshipping you, spam adding you and everyone being nice and friendly. I remember back when it was actually possible to truly make friends.

Probably because a lot of players were relatively new players (not brand new), but didn't play for too long.

Now, no one cares. EVERYONE hates each other, and if everyone snowballs on your team, it's more like a relief rather than anyone even being happy anymore. I just hard carried my team 15/5/8 in silver MMR and not a single person said anything in post game chat, nothing to me, nothing, except one guy saying "gg guys". and nothing more. No honors, no friend requests, nothing at all. Nothing.

Yet if I lose lane and do bad I get cussed at, flamed, mass reported and insulted. I was reported 15 games in a row a few days ago, yet I'm still here. That just goes to show you that no one has any report weight level anymore since all they do is flame, talk shit, harass people and report everyone to oblivion. There are no new players anymore. Just angry "vets" who hate EVERYONE, including themselves, and they all think they don't deserve their elo and its everyone else's fault, so no one cares about anyone anymore. The complete flood of "I got banned" posts just shows you how evil and rude people are.

And even the so-called "nice" people aren't nice anymore. They're just arrogant, rude, stuck up "white knights." They'll add you on discord or STEAM whatever then they'll just delete you after awhile.

its a shitshow. i take a lot of breaks from league cause of the toxicity. somtimes days, weeks or even months. there aren't that many chill nice people lately. i try to be positive in game but the moment one person opens his mouth saying salty words things go to shit.

i think the toxicity is largely due to the snowball nature of LoL.

when your teammates are doing poorly and the enemies are snowballing, they turn into unstoppable monsters. it can cause feelings of frustration and hopelessness that I don't ever feel in many other video games.

and the other reason is leaverbuster. when you get into a game like that where it is not fun at all, but you know you cant leave it feels really bad. it makes people want to lash out at something.

All competitive online games have some sort of toxicity. Especially in popular games like League of Legends. Players are extremely competitive and also don't understand the concept of sportsmanship because they don't have to see the other players on the other side of the monitor. So they want to feel like they're in control but in reality, they're not. That's what makes players so angry. Because they don't see people as people. But just another object on the monitor. So since these players hate losing, they lash out.

So no matter what competitive online game you play, you're always going to find toxic players. The best thing to do is don't associate with them. Mute them and try to play your best. But also, remember to report them if they make your game unenjoyable.

<---- permabanned player here (now reformed) So the reason I think people are inhumane and toxic (like I was). It's simply because of the competitive nature of the game, and such sites as op.gg, lolskill, and lolnexus for that matter. These sites show winrate and actual stats of the individual players, in my case I usually god hella pissed if I myself had a 54% winr ate out of 500+ games and then got paired with 1-2 people with a sub 50% win rate in even 200+ games. Overall I think the reason is the matchmaking, and how inters and other trollers are punished. I remember very clearly the last 2 games I actually played on my account. 1st I was playing Gankplank (doing quite bad) I had been held hostage in the lobby and was forced to play top, because they banned my midlaner as they were 2 premade and wanted to go jungle/Mid, this got me in a rather bad mood and we lost the game because 1st I played bad 2nd they made me tilt and trashed me all game. 3rd I actually didn't stop myself from tilting. 2nd game I played amumu (one of my main champions at the time) but yea I was still in a bad mood from the last game and you guys it this game I had a guy who had 45% win rate and actually actively tried to lose us the game in a way I don't think was detectable with by the system (He just ran into lanes taking farm and then didn't do anything, in my book this is actively trying to lose the game). Oh well, I actually got so pissed that I told my teammate that if I were going to die to tonight it would probably be because he had made me hung myself. BUT as you can clearly see i'm quite open about what a piece of shit I was in the past, and I easily see how people can get this triggered since I've taken multiple screenshots and opened support tickets about, but I felt like it was never taking serious. Also, I think they should just add a vote kick in lobby if a guy is trolling you can vote to kick him from the game if 4 people agree he gets kicked and you get placed back in the queue. The person shouldn't be punished immediately but let's say if this happens back to back in maybe 2 games he should get the 5min queue delay

So i am here to share too so this happened recently so we all know zoe is out and i have been using her ranked, now two games in a row some trolling banned her told me to shut the fuck up and kill myself the usual unnecessary "your a kid shut up troll type" so any ways luckily each time other team mates took one for everyone else and dodged or disconnected so the remake was allowed, so i went to blind to just play a game without waiting too long....found a player that was so tilted he refused to player because the top laner disconnected to some obvious ping issues.

Things like this are happening a lot and i see such behavior more in ranked than in normals and its really strange how player throw games in ranked that affects their ranked because they want to troll.

Which is why league needs a vote to kick system. Counter strike global offensive has such a system and while it does not always help (troll premades to kick people) it would help lessen the decision to troll for some people, yes you will be stuck in a 4v5 but at least you are not getting harassed every damn second and can actually make your plays and enjoy what you can. Also calling for timeouts because life happens and sometimes player need to get out for a tiny bit, these features will decrease the aggression.

Though all in all its also region (EUW) is next level trolling and aggression and just Toxic, due to placing i get the best ping at euw which is 182 but i still get great matches out of it, i like league, i like the lore and its champions, its community though are just something else. We need the tribunal back.

Just putting this out there. I tried to add you in League so you could meet someone who could be friendly but you refused. What's the point of complaining about "toxic players" if you don't even want friends ?

This has always been the nature of LoL. Welcome to the maturity of its community base.

Everyone knows they're really called Flamin' Homers.

Yea, you'll have some jerks in the game. It certainly isn't enjoyable.
