Okay wtf is the difference between "new" and "recent" and the difference between "hot" and "best"

Best implies most upvotes ever, hot implies currently getting a lot of view/upvotes.
New is in the order the thread was posted, recent is in order of the most recent comment.
Recent exists for people like me who preferred the 'forum style' view, while the other three were their initial sorting options.
Hot = threads with lots of recent comments/views/upvotes Best = threads with most upvotes (all time) New = new threads Recent = threads with recently new comments
Ya, because when these boards first launched, they were abysmal. They were basically reddit but without reddit's community... it was awful. There are 4 or 5 threads that have 200+ upvotes about hating the boards, and most of them originate back before Riot had taken steps to address everyone's issues.
I still don't LIKE the boards, but I'm willing to use them now, so... meh.
