PSA: When you refuse to surrender, and still lose the game, you've just wasted your time.
You haven't actually gained anything that you wouldn't have gained from surrendering anyway.

well, idk about you but i have fun playing this game... and while I might have lost the game, i hope to enjoy my time while losing.... there are many situations where this might not be true, but i dont play a game looking for a negative outcome....
just as you have the option to surrender, i have the option not to.... some amazing fun games have come around from playing in initially terrible situations...
You've gained experience fighting while behind, which may help you turn that situation around next time.
Personally, I think surrender should be disabled in Ranked all together.
So what happens when you surrender a game at 20 because you "can't carry the team", and then you get an AFK/Feeder the next game and you lose that one also?
Now you have to win 3 games to get ahead. You might only have to win 2 if you stuck out that other one.
I play games for fun. Some of my favorite matches have been the come from behind 40 min victory. Plus, if you're the assbag who's afk in base raging about how the game is lost 10-15 mins in when our entire team has late game scaling hypercarries, then I am happy to waste YOUR time and get you leavebustered.
When I play league, I'm not that squeezed for time that 5-10 min is a big deal. I usually don't surrender, I enjoy playing even when losing.
However, if my team is hella toxic, yeah, I'll vote yes. That's what makes a game unenjoyable. I'd rather have a polite and apologetic feeder than a toxic, raging asshole carry
If you don't play games for fun, you're wasting your time.
Well you know, people do like to play games out, which is totally reasonable. They went into a game to play the game not to surrender when things seem bad
Idk why this is downvoted, it's absolutely right. Tackling some of the more (wrongly) persistent counter arguments:
1) You need to practice playing from behind to get better - No, you need to practice playing the portion of the game that you messed up to put you behind in the first place, which you can't do when you're turtling in your base for 10 minutes as the other team gets free objectives.
**2) Surrendering is always wrong **- The absolute here is absolute crap. There's a time and place for surrenders because of the snowball nature of league, just like all the other (e)sports where surrendering is common (sc2, chess, boxing, etc).
3) 'Well my friend's friend won a 4v5 one time' - Sure, but you're not hearing about all the times they lost that same 4v5. The reality is that playing these games out costs you time, time you could be spending playing more games, getting more LP (speaking to the concern about surrendering in ranked).
For every loss you have to win two more. Plus those two wins aren't even 100% going to be wins resulting in more x2 games adding up.
I could write the math out but I'm too tired for that atm. By surrendering you actually waste more time in the long run by A LOT.
