Indirect Zyra nerf

Dear Riot: You are removing valor from Banner of Command. Just Like the change to Spirit of the Elder Lizard in 2013, this is an indirect Zyra nerf. You buff Heimer, the other user of this item, but you ignore Zyra. This is one of her core items as it increases the damage her plants deal. You just really do not like her doing well Mid, do you?!

Banner was a nice niche item that had its place, had a great recipe path with quite a bit of AP and CDR. Now you fully pushed it into the support items. yay. I am not impressed!

They also nerfed midgame magic resist which is technically an indirect buff to her and all casters.

But really, the item will still be strong on support zyra at least.

I loved to rush Banner of Command so i could send promote to one of the sidelanes if they were doing mehish when i was playing Zyra or Heimer. But now i do not see a reason to ever buy it on a mage.

Really going to miss it tho loved the item. Now it feels like mages are going to be much more standard builds and nothing suprising or rly differnt from the standard items anymore. Kinda depressing but shit happens.

No, it was a good item for her, but it wasn't 'making her competitive'. She was still a weak laner.

And before you comment with your winrate... I mean no disrespect, but there's a guy who made it to diamond 1 playing teemo in every role. Just because you can win games playing a champ in a role does not mean that champ is competitive in that role.

Zyra was a suboptimal midlaner for the 2014 season meta due to the dominant midlane choices and the way junglers interacted with the lanes. That's not saying she was useless, just that she was not competitive. And banner of command did not do anything to make her competitive because it had no impact on the reasons she wasn't competitive. Definitely was a good item for her. But honestly, even without BoC I expect Zyra mid to be better than before, even if not necessarily completely optimal.

oh, i completely agree, she wasnt a good laner last season. in "making competitive" i meant that this item actually gave her a good winning chance, not that it made her tier 1. And my winrate with her sucks...QQ. there's a reason why i am where i am. The thing is, i enjoy her, i like to play her and it makes me angry that she is getting pressed into a role she was not designed for. And when there are items that her minions (plants) can take advantage of, they get those aspects nerfed away, i.e. Burning Bush Zyra and now Banner. We'll see what the season changes do for her. I'll still play her mid, but i will not rush banner on her anymore.
