Take a break, possibly one of the most mentioned tips, unfortunately I don't see people follow it enough...

Being tilted will make you play worse, it'll make you treat other people worse, it'll make you more tilted if you don't deal with it properly...

Why am I making this post?

Tilt... It's a real problem that isn't addressed enough... I felt like people needed some help on this subject so I hope this is it for somebody out there... Even if this post helps one person from ruining their day and someone else's (By being toxic or so on) then it was worthwhile making this post...

5 tips from my (personal) experience with dealing with tilt...

  1. Get up, walk around, eat something, you'll be surprised how often you forget you're hungry... Simple but works..

  2. Uninstall League Of Legends. Sorry, I had to put this on here... If this game tilts you so much maybe this just isn't the game for you, of course this is just running away from an internal problem but this works for me, it obviously wasn't permanent (for me anyway) but uninstalling so it wasn't there at a click of a button really helped me go off tilt.

  3. Do something fun that doesn't risk making you aggravated, when things go well for you in the way you want them to it's impossible to be angry, do something that is a fail safe, something that you can relax on, whether it be playing a game like minecraft in creative mode or getting out and watching a movie, do something that helps you relax.

  4. Had to put it here, take a break, if you find yourself getting tilted easily no matter what so it seems then take a week break, take a month break... Maybe even refer to tip 2. for this one, helps when taking a break... And remember, league isn't for everyone, now I'm just gonna say now, this isn't a "uninstall league thread" it's a go off tilt thread, if you really don't like league you're under no obligation to play it, it's a great game but if all you're doing is having a bad experience and making a bad one for others too then you should probably consider your options.

  5. Possibly the best tip, I haven't seen this anywhere, there are 64,000,000 active players on league of legends according to stats, So I'm easily not the only one who uses this but this tip is definitely underrated...

Let Your Anger Out

That's right, don't hold it in, let it out, when people hold in anger it doesn't do anything for them, it can be anything, like having something next to you that you can punch, sometimes anger is unavoidable, don't just hold it in, for me holding in anger is how I go on tilt in the first place, don't let it build up and explode, it could be anything, a stress ball, a punching bag... DONT EVER TAKE IT OUT ON OTHER PEOPLE.

Smaller but still really efficient tips:

/ignore all Or /mute, Tell your team you'll be ignoring them, it doesn't matter what they think, don't be embarrassed to do this, ask them to communicate with pings.

Turning all chat off:

IN GAME:

ESC > Interface > Scroll down > Chat, untick " Show all chat "

For me having this off just really helps, you won't really miss out on much by having all chat off if all you care about is winning.

Turning certain audio off:

For me, turning off the following really used to help get me off tilt:

Turning off voices and sound effects will be a really big help if things like taunts and jokes effect you.

Turning off the announcer volume will help you more than you realize, for me it used to be a big thing that'd just "rub it in",

This doesn't annoy me anymore as I've learned to just take mistakes as a learning point, which is another great habit to get into.

If you don't know where volume settings are:

ESC > SOUND > Adjust sliders appropriately to their above corresponding names.

Take breaks even when not tilted, it'll help you not get to the stage of being even slightly tilted, league is a game, make sure to balance your life around what's important, don't balance it around league.

These tips shouldn't just be used on their lonesome... Use them together, I quite often use them all at once with the exception of 2. and some of the smaller tips.

Anyway, I'm just gonna hope this helped someone :)

I won't post a tldr because if you're genuinely struggling with tilt you need to read all of this, don't tell yourself it's a problem you can't fix because that's the first fault people make when addressing a problem.

If anyone else has good tips be sure to leave them in the comments together we can teach people how to deal with tilt and have funner games ^_^

Bonus tip for game play: always ask yourself why you're in a specific spot, why you're top lane, why you're bot lane, if you always make sure you're doing something worthwhile and thinking one step ahead you'll do well :)

Why did I include that? Because it's a good tip and doing well reduces tilt XD

Good post. Sometimes to help myself out I put on a show and watch it for 20 - 40 mins between games (at least when grinding ladder).
