My Faith is Shaken.

On March 18th, an opposing team had an intentional feeder / griefer that literally turned a winning effort into a loss, because that one player trolled. The other team was ahead, they deserved to win.

My entire team reported him, the other team reporting him, but I felt the need to open a support ticket also as this was flagrant dis-respect. My response from support:

"We will investigate your report and take any actions we feel are necessary. Please keep in mind; we cannot disclose any disciplinary actions that may be taken due to privacy reasons. Even if you were unable to use the report feature, please continue to use our in-game reporting system whenever you can. Reports you make provide us with valuable tracking information and help to escalate players to our attention for investigation. Each report brings violators of the Summoner's Code one step closer to restricted chat or suspension by our investigative audits. Thank you for your patience and for taking time out of your day to send us this report. It is our goal to continue working towards making experiences on the Fields of Justice fair and fun for all Summoners! Please let me know if you have any additional feedback or concerns."

I responded wtih the following: We all used the in game report feature - this same user has been griefing in 5+ games that same day it would appear the reporting system isn't catching them quick enough, so I submitted a ticket. If submitting a ticket for examples of extreme abuse where the Report system isn't being effective at stopping the users - should we as players just accept that 20+ players will be negatively impacted by one griefing player and rely on hope that someday something will happen instead of submitting a ticket?

Riot's response: *I apologize for the wait, our ticket queue is quite hectic at the moment. Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for trying to help us make our community fun and fair. Being a player myself, I too know the struggle of dealing with negative behaving players.

As much as we want everyone to enjoy the game, there are still people who will do whatever they like. They are toxic, leave a game, or even troll. I understand how frustrating this can be because I do get them sometimes as well in my games. Since we don't have complete control over their behavior, we can only minimize bad behavior and help them improve it. Reporting them is the best thing to do as we will slowly clear them out in our community.

I strongly encourage you to use the report feature to help compile evidence for our system and to provide us with more information during our personal investigations. Players who regularly misbehave are punished through restrictions and suspensions. If he does continue to behave the way he is, I can almost guarantee it will be noticed and dealt with accordingly.

If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to ask.*

Since my original ticket opening the player has griefed an additional NINE games bringing the total to over 20 games he's trolled in. I'm honestly in shock that he isn't banned. Either 180 players failed to report this troll or 20 reports isn't enough to justify a permanent ban?

TL;DR Kid trolls in over 20 games, and Riots response is "Keep using the report feature and don't submit a ticket".

No, 20 reports isn't enough to justify a permanent ban lol. Riot almost never bans people.

It's important to remember that the total number of reports doesn't matter much. Cases are purely built based on the number of reported games relative to the number of games played. This gives a good indication of how often the player engages in the behavior.

While the Tribunal was active, it took being reported in some 12-25% of games to trigger a case. I suspect the number is similar. Assuming that this player has only been griefing in those games (which, I want to stress, is never a safe assumption), he would be below that rough threshold of 12% with only ~170 games.

Still, it's not unreasonable to guess that a sanction may well be in his near future, particularly if he persists in the behavior.

I played with someone like this recently.

He said he was going to troll us in champ select, and when I asked him why he would do such a thing in a ranked game, he responded 'because it's ranked, it's a whole new level of funny!'. He then went to pick Anivia jungle. My gut told me to dodge, but I trusted that he was just going with a non-meta pick, and that he was actually going to try. He took blue buff and followed my support and I bot lane, using his wall to try and get us killed. When he started farming under turret, he roamed to mid and got him killed quite a few times, while also feeding the other team himself. He said 'This is for a youtube video! Come on, it's hilarious!' All 8 of us reported him (Except for the enemy Heimerdinger, who said 'Thanks for the free lp Anivia! I'm honoring u!' Players like this only encourage this behavior and should be held just as accountable but anyway...) After the game, I looked at his recent matches and they all showed similar scores. I submitted a ticket with screenshots of ingame chat and reported everything I knew. They told me that they would look into it but couldn't give any information about any punishment.

Yes, I have stalked this player, curious to see if anything would be done. He still plays to this day (this incident was maybe a month ago). I'm not sure why people that behave this way only ever seem to get a slap on the wrist.

Just for context:

As an Ebay seller, I can ship one out of every 100 packages with a live Tiger in it and still have a 99% rating.
